Beto O'Rourke says he raised $4.5 million in 2019's third quarter ...
That puts the former Texas congressman in ninth place among Democratic 2020 presidential candidates who have announced their third quarter numbers so far. His total is just behind New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker's $6 million and Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar's $4.8 million, and well off the $25.3 million that Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and $24.6 million Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren raised as they paced the field.

O'Rourke plans to tell supporters Friday night that his goal is to finish in the top five in Iowa and New Hampshire -- the first two states to hold their elections in the Democratic primary.
His campaign believes Nevada, the third state to vote, plays much more to O'Rourke's strengths, with a sizeable Latino population that aligns more closely with the issues on which O'Rourke is strongest.
Then, O'Rourke and his campaign think he can rack up delegates and build momentum on Super Tuesday ...

(10,500 posts)I don't see Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders, Tom Steyer or Corey Booker dropping out now that they have qualified for the debates.
The candidates who did not qualify might drop out, but the ones who made the debate stage will not start exiting the race until after Iowa or New Hampshire.

(19,240 posts)Since Democratic voters are now expecting that Trump will be forced to drop out before the general election or (if he stays in) any Democratic will be able to win against him, they can now cast votes of conscience rather than pragmatism. And voting for Beto who stood up before Americans and gave the NRA the middle finger makes them feel good. Same for several of the other underdogs.
