(7,277 posts)US investment advisory company The Stagwell Group has acquired Nielsens Mobile Insights Survey and Total Communications Survey, which will relaunch under the name HarrisX. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Dritan NeshoStagwell was formed in 2015 by Penn Schoen Berland co-founder Mark Penn. Soon after launch, the firm acquired Nielsens entertainment research subsidiary NRG; and in January, it bought the Harris brand and Harris Poll from Nielsen. As part of the latest deal, HarrisX will join what is now known as Harris Insights and Analytics, offering mobile industry trends insights to telecoms and smartphone clients. HarrisX will offer two tracker surveys: the Mobile Insights telecoms industry survey tracker, providing insights on all carrier and device-related consumer behavior, perceptions, preferences and motivations; and the Total Communications Survey performance tracker, to measure the current and intended behavior and motivators of consumers across video, Internet and streaming services.

(7,277 posts)but the pollster. As I said in a DU reply, 'Mark Penn is dishonest, political insider who has spent a life time trading in favors, a man of little integrity, so - is there is reason to trust in the integrity of the polls he not only owns, but supervises? Cite with caution'.
When a result is two or more standard deviations from the poll average, there is reason to be cautious. When the pollster is Penn, that does double.
Morning Consult has set up a system that returns similar results week after week. Harris is a run by a political animal, who can not be trusted. Fish and Fowl.

(1,812 posts)From YouGuv Blue/ Data For Progress : Warren 36% Biden 23% Sanders 15% Buttigieg 6% Harris 5% (From Latest Polls 538) . The numbers for Biden and Warren are all over the place .. Warren is either pulling ahead of the pack - or is still way behind Joe ..Some of these pollsters are full of beans ...We will find out when real voting begins . This poll focuses heavily on the issue of who is "paying attention to the news" .. Too much in my opinion . A lot of voters are not cable news junkies or avid readers of The Washington Pot

(43,415 posts)Not only that but Scott Rasmussen (who runs HarrisX) is a RWer, who has had a clear agenda for decades. Not only that but the same poll (HarrisX) showed Trump with a 49% approval rating post impeachment enquiry announcement, which is the same as the KNOWN-to-be dodgy, RW Rasmussen Reports poll shows (Scott Rasmussen sold RR off years ago.)
The Morning Consult is similar to HarrisX as well, but a bit better.
Posting HarrisX every day is just a study in wish fulfilment at this point. There is simply no way a national poll showing a twenty point lead (which is literally DOUBLE the spread of a LEGIT great for Biden poll ie. Fox) is anything but that.

I tend to post polls when I see them, but I ignore most of these because they are so frequent.

I just used Advanced Search to look back at OPs posted in this forum the last two months, back to August 12, using the search terms
harris
and
harris x
to get all OPs about the poll (and I had to skim past all the OPs referring to Kamala Harris).
The polls posted were for:
Oct. 8-11 (this one)
Oct. 1-4
Sept. 28 - Oct. 1
Sept. 25-28
Sept. 10-13
Aug. 26-29
Aug. 24-27
Aug. 23-26
There were also a few threads about Hill/Harris and Harvard/Harris polls, which are different polls. I think one of those polls was posted by two people. But I've sometimes seen polls favoring Warren posted by several people.
Re the August polls, there were separate OPs for likely voters as well as registered voters, since 538 had started posting both poll results for Harris X. That wasn't done for the later polls.

(43,415 posts)and RCP link to (RCP uses The Hill as the linkage, 538 links right to Rasmussen's spreadsheets)
The pretty RW Hill, (where the scum John Solomon worked at and pushed the Biden Ukraine bullshit for months) partners with HarrisX
Scott Rasmussen is a RWer (he founded and then sold off the odious RW Rasmussen Reports poll years ago, it is the Trump and Rethug favourite, as it oversamples RWer far too much)
Mark Penn is a DINO turned RWer and runs the separate (from HarrisX) Harvard-Harris poll
Penn's umbrella firm Stagwell Group owns both HarrisX and Harvard-Harris, 2 separate polls (Penn himself runs Harvard-Harris)
and The Hill is also basically RW, with some balancing articles that are sometimes legit
it's a RW clusterfuck

They are RW foxes in the hen house, designed to cause conflict and steer opinion for max chaos.
The Hill (HarrisX partner) just so happens to sponsor the most dodgy of all the major polls`(run by a decades long RW pollster) in terms of overrating Biden AND YET ALSO just so happens to have been the biggest source pushing the Biden Burisma Ukraine scandal RW conspiracy theory.

The Hidden Author of Putinism
How Vladislav Surkov invented the new Russia
https://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2014/11/hidden-author-putinism-russia-vladislav-surkov/382489/
I am the author, or one of the authors, of the new Russian system, Vladislav Surkov told us by way of introduction. On this spring day in 2013, he was wearing a white shirt and a leather jacket that was part Joy Division and part 1930s commissar. My portfolio at the Kremlin and in government has included ideology, media, political parties, religion, modernization, innovation, foreign relations, and ...here he pauses and smilesmodern art. He offers to not make a speech, instead welcoming the Ph.D. students, professors, journalists, and politicians gathered in an auditorium at the London School of Economics to pose questions and have an open discussion. After the first question, he talks for almost 45 minutes, leaving hardly any time for questions after all. Its his political system in miniature: democratic rhetoric and undemocratic intent.
