Harry Reid-"do not underestimate Trump"

I have a deep respect for former Senator Harry Reid. If he says beware the dragon is no dummy and will require a robust offense and coordinated effort to defeat, I believe him.

Reid warns Democrats not to underestimate Trump

Kyle Balluck 1 hr ago

Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) is warning Democrats not to underestimate President Trump in 2020.

"I used to think that Donald Trump was not too smart. I certainly don't believe that anymore," Reid told CNN's David Axelrod during an interview on "The Axe Files" aired late Saturday.

"I don't think he's intellectually a powerhouse, but he is basically a very, very smart man," he added. "No matter what the subject, any argument he involves himself in, it's on his terms. You're always arguing against him. He never, never willing to debate an issue on terms that aren't his."

When asked what advice he would give to a candidate running against Trump, Reid responded: "Well, what I say initially and I say it right here in your show, anyone that thinks Trump's going to be beaten easily should have another think coming."…..snip

mind intelligence
body intelligence
feeling intelligence

some people, many, most? people get them mixed up and use the wrong intelligence for the wrong function...

ok enough of that..

trump has .. the lowest, undeveloped form of automatic feeling intelligence, ...... he doesn't control it, doesn't know it exists, and everything he does is an automatic reaction to it...

a vicious, gangster, bullying type of intelligence... the result is he is just flapping flapping around in his own emotional pain....a survival intelligence, if you will..

Trump has never been held accountable for anything he's ever said or done. His family's wealth & influence have saved his ass. He isn't smart. He says whatever serves him in the moment. Only now he's being held accountable, because he's in government, & not his cushy private little business surrounded only family members who tell him how "tremendous" he is.

Trump's fall should be epic, but I doubt it will be what he deserves. The only thing that makes me happy is knowing once he's out of office he will no longer get the kind of media attention he thrives on. Sure, he'll still have an audience, but he won't get reported on like he does now & it is going to sting! He is going to jones big time.

I hate the fucking piece of shit.

The American people share much in common. Wise folks often advise that we concentrate on what we share.

I spoke with my brother yesterday, a trump supporter. He is beginning to waiver on impeachment. He said, "Let's see where it goes."

Vlad is having everything going his way with his tool drumpf destroying America's reputation and delivering Russia's enemies (and our friends) directly into their path to be killed. drumpf is just doing as he's told for personal profit and to keep the information Vlad has on him from coming out because he'd probably be killed for treason if we knew all the tragic things he's done since occupying the office.

10. Warren's Response to Trump's Lightbulb
Sun Oct 13, 2019, 12:15 PM
Oct 2019

Elizabeth Warren doesn’t want you to get distracted by light bulbs.

Or, for that matter, paper versus plastic straws. Or whether the Green New Deal will take your cheeseburgers away.

Oh come on, give me a break,” the Massachusetts senator said at the CNN climate forum when Chris Cuomo asked her to weigh in on whether the government should mandate the kind of light bulbs Americans use in the wake of the Trump administration rolling back energy efficiency regulations.

“This is exactly what the fossil fuel industry hopes we’re all talking about,” Ms. Warren said. “They want to be able to stir up a lot of controversy around your light bulbs, around your straws and around your cheeseburgers. When 70 percent of the pollution, of the carbon that we’re throwing into the air, comes from three industries.”

https://www.nytimes.com/live/2019/democrats-climate-town-hall/elizabeth-warren-climate-change

Warren is too smart to take Trump's bait, and can deftly change the conversation to the American people. Other candidates are content to just go tit-for-tat with the master of muddying waters.

Also, Trump is, in fact, a dim lightbulb.

We lost in 2016 for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is that we underestimated his appeal to the rubes and his ability to motivate them.

Again, we ignore that at our peril. Overconfidence is not a winning strategy.

During the last 10 weeks of the campaign. It was an arrogant and inept campaign that stopped the infinitely more qualified Clinton from becoming the first woman President in US history.

Less than 80,000 votes determined the election, but the campaign literally spent more time at San Francisco and DC fundraisers in the weeks before the election than time in these key battlegrounds.

Warren is running an incredibly well-organized, disciplined campaign. There is no way she will repeat such glaring mistakes. Even against an opponent badly damaged by impeachment hearings.

He has street smarts, the sort that thugs and professional criminals exude. In terms of history and geopolitics he's basically an ignoramus but he does understand the power of authoritarianism, admires it, wishes he too had unlimited power to do what he pleases. He's helped in this view by Republicans who believe in broad, executive powers, unrestricted by Congress and the Courts.

We're in a very dangerous place, the only shield against Trump's insatiable hunger for power is the Democratic majority in the House and the prosecutors and courts and those bureaucratic officials that the Trump team has not yet managed to turn their way. That's been their plan all along, switch out officials loyal to democratic rule with those who are willing to look the other way and/or cheerlead Trumpism despite its ugly, destructive facets.

Trump and his enablers are not going to leave without a brutal fight to the finish. Reid is right in my estimation. This will not be a cakewalk.
