Now we can stop tip-toeing.

I sure wish we'd had this weeks ago, so we didn't end up tip-toeing around Hunter's actions. Clearly they weren't illegal, but people could have made a much stronger pushback to the RW distortion that he was on the board "with no qualifications." That's patetly nonsense as you can see from the statement. I'm guessing that his salary wasn't particularly out of line for that sort of position, I'd like to know.

A Statement on behalf of Hunter Biden, dated October 13, 2019
By George Mesires
Hunter Biden’s business activities have received significant press attention. Since 2016, I have served as Hunter’s lawyer. In recent weeks, I have received numerous questions about those activities, many of which have been shaped by allegations bearing little resemblance to the public record. The following is a succinct, fact-based accounting of Hunter Biden’s business activities in Ukraine and China. Hunter has also outlined specific commitments that would govern his business and financial dealings during a Biden Administration.

Like all Burisma directors, Hunter was compensated for his board service.

and business experience. The Polish President who was on the Board also got in by his name. What in the world do you think board members do and why they are appointed? Bill Gates sits on the board of Berkshire Hathaway. Depak Chopra is on the board of Men's Warehouse. Al Gore is on the board of Apple.... I could list more.

a reported $60K a month.

There is no evidence that Hunter did anything corrupt. But it was just plain stupid -- and selfish -- for him to take a Board job posing a potential for conflict of interest with his father's position as President.

He didn't clear this job with the Obama administration. They would have told him no.

I considered the ultimate source, Giuliani/Trump and tuned out immediately.

Besides, Vice President Biden has suffered enough unfairness in life with so many tragedies related to his children.
