Post Debate Thoughts

I will miss Amy Klobuchar, but it is clear this is not her year.

Tulsi Gabbard is weird. Her being there is weird. She says shit the Russians say.

Tom Steyer needs to put his time and money to better use. Like getting a left leaning media voice going. He can't win the Primaries. Help in other ways. If no media voice thing, then send cash to help win Senate seats. He has spent $40+ MILLION on his impeachment ads which were actually "I wanna be President" ads. How about you help out the guy running for village council against a corrupt Repubic in East Bumfuck?

Andrew Yang is also weird.

I never "got" Beto and I guess the Democratic base doesn't either.

Castro seems so young and naive.

Pete Buttigieg just looked mean and argumentative for argumentative's sake.

I like Corey Booker. Too bad his fan club is shrinking.

I really wanted to see Kamala Harris shine, but she just isn't going to do so. Her hit to Biden in the first debate was noteworthy. Sadly, that was the high water mark for her entire campaign.

I'm in the same age bracket as the three leaders. I think any one of them could do the job. Bernie's heart attack doesn't scare me at all. The stents will give him a new vigor like y'ain't never seen before! I know. I have five of them and I still work 50 to 60 hours a week and keep a pretty heavy travel schedule.

The Medicare conversation was as stupid as stupid can be. First off, its a rerun of a rerun. Each candidate would push for some form of universal healthcare, I have no doubt. But the fact is, they will each sign whatever they can get out of Congress, their own particular plan notwithstanding. It is time for the moderators to find another shit stirring topic to flog and it is time for the candidates to stop squabbling among themselves over arcane details no one gives a shit about. Can we move on, s'il vous plait?

At this point, I think what will matter is the character the candidates project. Brains. Confidence. Competence. Authenticity. Enthusiasm. Concern for the *entire* citizenry.

I remain undecided on who to support, but am pretty clear on who I prefer not to see continue in the race. I am also sad to see some past favorites faltering.

I was driving and listened to NPR. I reached my destination and tried to finish listening to the gun discussion on my phone. It just sounded weird. Finally, when they got to Julian, he made good points on the gun topic. LOL He was my city councilmen. I live in his "hood"...(the nice part...LOL) I think he won that topic.

this is how you gradually begin to get these weapons of war off the streets so do they not end up in the wrong hands.

input, Stinky!

I haven't yet seen the debate for myself - blasted time difference and I couldn't keep my eyes open overnight.

But based on what I have seen in press reports, the top tier really won't change at this point.

Like you, I am sad about some in the lower tiers as some there were among my top five preferences.

My only thought where I might disagree is with Buttigieg. I personally thought he did a great job. I haven't seen a whole lot of him but what I did see I liked.

It was nice to Sen. Klobushar be more aggressive. Unfortunately, I think for her, it might be a little too late. Same for Sen. Booker but I personally think his ceiling is alot higher than many of the other candidates.

Your point about Tom Steyer is absolutely spot on. His value to the party and to the general election is definately his media exposure he can provide.

And finally, your last point that at this stage of the game, it is the character of the candidates and how they project themselves. We're way too early in the game.

Entirely too much defense of the status quo and the one percent last night. Each debate attack by the left on 'radical' plans for change enables the wrong-wing.
