The beauty of Elizabeth Warren. It's not just about politics.

I just came in from sitting on my porch. Lots of neighbors pass my way. One man almost always stops to talk. We both are passionate about local and national politics and our mutual disdain for Trump. He provides the Miami Cuban perspective for me. Today he threw up his hands and said that "Romney would be better than Trump". (He voted for Clinton in the last election.)

Then he asked me about Warren. "Why doesn't she dress better? She's always wears the same suit. Hillary Clinton dressed like a president."

I was stunned by his macho view, but it got me to wondering about Elizabeth Warren, her natural physical beauty, and her tendency to dress down. Why does she do this?

Are people more likely to vote for leaders who "dress for success'?

Look at the Obamas, for example. Their fashion sense didn't diminish their joyful spirits.

It's time for Elizabeth Warren to dress like the world leader that I know she can be.

12. He sounds to me possibly like a somewhat old-fashioned Cuban.

A young Cuban-American I worked with once surprised me by admiring my very "I-don't-try" style, usually a casual blazer, slacks and pumps. I'm like Warren, nobody's ever looked to me for a fashion lead. But the women in his extended family believed trying a lot was important, and he was wishing they didn't dress so elaborately. Caught between cultures and generations.

I have no problem with his expressing an opinion about her style. He voted for Hillary and he'd vote for her. More than good enough for me. I'm guessing that if she continues to rise in the polls she'll show up with a new, professionally designed wardrobe and be practicing a presidential walk.

I also lived in Florida for over 20 years, so if we’re dragging the Cubans into it, I knew more judgmental Americans than Cubans.

I’m just sick and tired of comments about what women wear. Especially women politicians.

Other than the tan suit debacle and one fairly recent comment here about a man wearing a polo shirt, men get a pass on this kind of thing.

And we all know why.

How often do we see discussions about what any man is wearing on the campaign trail? This drives me batty. She dresses in a conservative fashion, blazer. Watch Rachel Maddow, she also prefers a black blazer (wears it pretty much every broadcast) and she's brilliant.

Dress for your audience. Just because we're used to men in suits and ties (horrible those ties) doesn't mean we should expect women to somehow adopt a male style of dress, right? Most people would prefer to shake hands with someone that "seems like me," meaning dressing down for the meet-and-greets, and dressing up for the more formal settings.

I have not followed this extensively to be able to cite examples of times Warren wore this or that, just wanted to say, clothes do not make the candidate, ideas and the ability to implement those ideas makes the candidate.

Hillary also probably has a much larger budget for clothing, just sayin

I want my president to be a lot better than I am, in every aspect.
It doesn't take a lot of money to look better. There's no need to buy expensive designer labels to look professional.

There’s just no winning that game. EW dresses for busy days on the campaign trail. She can certainly step it up if the occasion requires it.

Better fitting and better quality jackets and just a bit of hair styling. Hate that it matters but polish counts.
Hillary was styled well and her hair always great.

at the thought of Hillary before she was forced to turn herself over to the pros for restyling. Remember how famous she was for her why-should-anyone-care hair?

Someone asked her about this, and she said: "Do you know how long it takes me to get dressed? 3 minutes."

Or something like that.

I think it's fine and what she thinks and talks about and her attitudes towards everything is way more important.
