Remember When Hillary Clinton Called Donald Trump Putins Puppet? She was Right
Remember when Hillary Clinton called Donald Trump Putins puppet? It turns out she was right. Russian President Vladimir Putin, who was trying to influence the 2016 presidential election, would rather have had Trump as president because he felt he could influence him easily. Yep, Donald Trump is Putins puppet.
Clintons response during the final presidential debate was on point. She was very aware of the tactics Putin uses to try to control his adversaries:
CLINTON: Well, thats because hed rather have a puppet as president of the United States.
TRUMP: No puppet. No puppet.
CLINTON: And its pretty clear
TRUMP: Youre the puppet!
CLINTON: Its pretty clear you wont admit
TRUMP: No, youre the puppet.

She is trying to warn us again. This time it is Tulsi.

Democrats and our liberal counterparts in other nations aren't useful to him but the enemies he must overcome. He uses resentful populist movements, strong conservatives, and easily influenced and manipulated fringe types on both sides.

(86,646 posts)Like Suan Rice said last night on Bill Maher's show, why isn't Tulsi denying it? Why isn't she countering with proof that Clinton was wrong?
She wasn't mentioned by HRC but she sure swallowed the bait with her guilty conscience and went on attack. HRC is probably sitting back knowing that she outed a shill before she could do more damage. TG will continue to confront HRC and claim it's between the two of them (HRC's not running for anything) and end up imploding. Hopefully she'll offend enough people that she will be more of a pariah than anything.

(29,322 posts)Is accusations that even Tulsi who wasn't named in the Mueller report is a Russian agent further discredits "Russiagate" among the left. I still believe Trump colluded but it is hard to keep convincing people of that if people make false claims.

(83,786 posts)No. We have not.
Not just the Mueller report. Lot's of information out there. Also, Tulsi's actions, run to Fox News . I remember a man by the name of Stephen Lessor. He was a long time member here. He had his own radio broadcast and was a frequent guest on Fox. He was vilified for going on Fox to debate our Democratic views.
Tulsi's own words and actions about the defense of Assad is disqualifying. Lot's more, RT...GOP...etc.

(29,322 posts)Tulsi is also a strong woman and she is being smeared worse than any candidate I ever seen. This is 1000x worse than the "Dean scream". I thought serving in war would protect me from accusations of being anti American but I guess not. She served in the armed forces and that experience has impacted her foreign policy views much like mine. Court martial her if you have proof. Tell FBI counterintelligence.

I just hope that Hillary doesnt call Bernie a Russian asset. If that happened, I would have to immediately change my presidential preference. Maybe Ill go with Jimmy Carter. Has Hillary denounced Carter as a Russian asset? Just to be safe, maybe I should do a Google search before changing anything.

(889 posts)My focus here is what Hillary said about Tulsi, that she is a Russian asset. Gabbard is not my choice for the Democratic nomination in 2020. But I am really bothered by the casual insult Hillary threw at her.
Trump is the master of wild, unsubstantiated accusations. Do we really need to imitate that approach? I, for one, wish that Hillary would take a deep breath, then apologize to Gabbard. Then lets all move on.

49. I don't care about that.

You brought up her veteran status and when the truth about her treatment of fellow veterans surface...you suddenly don't care. This is the link that you comment about saying you don't care.
When I asked her why the campaign wasnt promoting Vets For Bernie, she saidand Im quoting hereappealing to veterans is not a winning strategy in a Democratic primary.
That was interesting, considering the fact that she touts her veteran status at every opportunity.
When I further explained that we werent seeking the veteran vote only trying to highlight Bernies veteran supportshe still acted like it wasnt a worthwhile endeavor.
Again shes a veteran.
No. Hillary has no need to apologize to Gabbard. None at all.
Gabbard needs to apologize to the veterans she dismissed. (see link) and to our former SOS and President Elect. Her comments were disgusting.

(10,500 posts)Since she lost that rigged election it is considered acceptable to pile on her and add any negative critique of her to the laundry list of things that she is supposedly guilty of. But her history is generally one of restraint when dealing with her critics.
I find it hard to believe that she just woke up and decided to attack Tulsi, even after Gabbard's snide comments at the last debate.
Besides, Hillary never named her as the candidate she was talking about.
