Nate Silver's interesting take on Gabbard.

I'm honestly not sure whether a Tulsi 3rd party run would help or hurt Trump. Her supporters mostly seem to be defined by the fact that they're contrarian trolls more than that they're anti-establishment liberals, and I think the contrarian troll vote is Trump-leaning?
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

If her purpose is instead to keep Trump in office... then her adds and debate answers would be anti-trump as her goal would be to peel off Democrats from the eventual nominee.

Gabbard is running an anti-Trump campaign already. Nobody is convinced.

She quite likely might attract the people who hated Secretary Clinton (due to decades of right wing hate radio sliming, etc) and voted *against* her rather than *for* Trump in 2016, but who also dislike Trump.

Maybe not, and I hope she doesn't run, but if she did run 3rd party and hurt the Repubs more, I'd find it both plausible and funner than fucking hell.

Trump cannot and will not get 50% of the votes. Most of the country hates his guts. In a two-person race, Trump will get trounced. His only chance is for more third party spoiler candidates to run again to bring down the margin to where he can eke out another win in the electoral college.
