PoliticoIn a state where fortunes can change on a dime, Pete Buttigieg has seized the momentum in recent weeks as Warren has slipped. Top Iowa Democrats attribute the shift to the scrutiny Warren is receiving as a frontrunner including attacks from her rivals as well as her struggles defending her plan to remake the nation's health care system.
And while Warren remained largely off the air until this month, Buttigieg has carpet-bombed the state with digital and TV ads, boosting his name ID. The South Bend mayor also delivered a standout speech to 13,500 Democrats at a marquee political event early this month.
You have to wonder whether she peaked too soon, former Iowa Lt. Gov. Patty Judge, co-chair of the advocacy group Focus on Rural Iowa, said of Warren. In Iowa, she is wearing some [it's] like she established her endorsers and her delegates and thats all there is.

(6,232 posts)to beat trump. We are a Center/Left Country. We need a Center/Left candidate. (Biden/Abrams) We must get a win or all our goals are gone. I focus on who can win enough states to beat trump. We must fix this. BTW Iowa is a caucus state. Many others (Like Michigan) are primary election states. I've done both. With a caucus you get as many folks who are for your candidate. The one with the most people wins. The primary election means we all get to vote. There's a big difference.

(31,261 posts)and put out a big somewhat sketchy one of her own. Then she had to backtrack and backfill on both big proposals under the glare that comes with a frontrunner. I don't rule her out, she is a fighter. She need to make properly focused stands in debates and blast out her reformed processes for taxing wealth and delivering MFA to all Americans.
