Malarkey means the same thing as BS. It's a non-vulgar way of saying that.

They mentioned the meaning on Morning Joe, but they were wondering why Biden didn't just call his tour the "No BS" tour.

I'd think it was obvious.

He'd be accused of vulgarity even by people who regularly use much worse language themselves.

And there would also be screams that he was using Bernie Sanders's initials and therefore trying to send a message that his campaign was all about stopping Sanders. (And if you don't think that would be likely, you didn't see any of the posts from Sanders supporters here complaining that supporters of other candidates were using BS instead of "bullshit" as a way of hurting Bernie somehow.)

I suppose Biden could have tried calling his campaign the "No Nonsense" tour but that's been trivialized to mean merely practical. It doesn't put the emphasis on nonsense that Biden is correctly doing by using the word malarkey.

Which does fit almost everything Trump says, and calls attention to how bizarre it is.

And btw, I don't rememberr any fuss about the word "malarkey" when Bill Nye used it, even for the title of one of the episodes of his Netflix series:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6566206/

But if Joe Biden uses the word, his critics just can't get over how strange it is.

IMO the fuss they make about the word IS malarkey.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

At some point, candidates x, y, and z will lose to candidate w. It doesn't matter who is who.

Along the way, and especially towards the convention, the bots will start making the case that candidates x/y/z were robbed because of something. Each camp will receive its own targeted content by users right here who seem real.

Some will tear off and form their own suddenly available website to have their own discussions. They will further distance themselves from candidate w and the dnc and eventually vote either for a third party or trump himself. They will work to take other demographics with them.

The candidate will play along, not wanting to alienate their core supporters and wanting revenge for the perceived stolen nomination.

See, they will say, only our candidate could have won. We will show you next cycle....

It is painfully obvious and it will work all over again.

And it will be sad. Unless we are better than that as a group and as individuals.

Here in the deep south, where people know who's probably going to hell by the language they use (with one current exception), most people up and down the socioeconomic spectrum and across the races express themselves with this relative refinement. Those who don't, well, bless their hearts.

It’s Biden-style. Let Biden be Biden, I say. It’s his bus. I am pretty sure “Merry Pranksters” was not
