Sanders' Massachusetts state director is out

Politico

Bernie Sanders’ Massachusetts state director, Joe Caiazzo, is no longer with the campaign.

Caiazzo’s departure marks the third time that one of Sanders’ state directors has been reassigned or parted ways with him in the 2020 cycle.

Faiz Shakir, Sanders’ campaign manager, said Caiazzo decided to "move on from the campaign to pursue other opportunities.” Joe Kennedy’s Senate campaign announced last month that Caiazzo had joined the team, but Caiazzo said at the time that he was remaining on Sanders’ staff.

Sanders’ campaign revealed it replaced its former South Carolina state director, Kwadjo Campbell, last month. Caiazzo previously served as Sanders’ New Hampshire state director until September, when he moved to Massachusetts. A Sanders adviser said at the time that he was being reassigned due to his experience in the state and because the campaign was “not conceding Massachusetts to anyone,” an apparent reference to home-state Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

It doesn't look good, that's for sure. It certainly doesn't inspire confidence in what kind of planning, organizing and leadership we would see in a BS administration. And don't get me started on vetting (or the LACK thereof).

Sanders has had a great deal of turnover in his staff https://www.democraticunderground.com/1287283747

The director in the OP had originally been moved from New Hampshire https://politicalwire.com/2019/09/15/sanders-shakes-up-new-hampshire-campaign/

Sen. Bernie Sanders “has replaced the New Hampshire state director of his presidential campaign after growing indignation from his fiercest supporters that their concerns about losing the first-in-the-nation primary states were being ignored,” Politico reports.

“More than 50 members from Sanders’ state steering committee applauded on Sunday afternoon when they heard that Joe Caiazzo had been reassigned to Massachusetts.”

Sanders loses his first Iowa director

Another key New Hampshire adviser is no longer working for sanders

While the Caiazzo transfer may have received national headlines, to Granite Staters who are fans of Sanders – and to many state political activists in general – Ehrenberg’s departure was a shock.

In an interview, Ehrenberg, who has been involved in New Hampshire politics for about three decades, told WMUR: “From the very beginning of this campaign, the state director (Caiazzo) and I had fundamental and very strong disagreements about how to wage a successful New Hampshire primary campaign.

“After months of discussion between me and key people in the campaign, it became clear that we could not agree, and within the last couple of days we agreed that I would no longer be part of the campaign. As of the end of the month, I will no longer be advising Bernie Sanders on campaign strategy.”

Sanders also lost his top South Carolina director
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/biden-proposes-1-3-trillion-103000727.html
(Bloomberg) -- Bernie Sanders has replaced his South Carolina state director, naming to the job a political consultant who helped flip a Republican-held House seat in the state to Democrats in 2018.

Sarah Ford, a campaign spokeswoman, confirmed that Jessica Bright would replace Kwadjo Campbell. She did not respond to a question about why Sanders made the change.

Sanders is trailing Joe Biden and Elizabeth Warren in the crucial primary state. In a RealClearPolitics average of polls between Oct. 3 and Oct. 21, Biden had support of 35% of the state’s likely Democratic voters, while Warren had 15.5% and Sanders had 12.8%.

In 2016, Sanders lost South Carolina by 47.5 points to eventual Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, largely because he failed to appeal to the state’s critical bloc of African American voters. He has launched a broad effort to improve his standing in the state for 2020 against Biden, who is deeply popular with black voters.
