Let's re-sort the candidates...

I'd say we have a four-way top tier (Biden, Warren, Buttigieg and Sanders), a two-way second tier (Yang and Bloomberg), and a two-way third tier (Booker and Klobuchar).

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Sorry, I like him, but his path won't bring him into the top tier; it's just the early state illusion.

He might surprise me, but he needs urban support that isn't apparent right now.

He's been in double digits in a handful of polls and is at 9% in the two most recent. A week or two worth of polls doesn't really tell us much long-term, and I think it's a little premature to put him in the same category as Sanders/Warren/Biden. If the trend continues for a while, it will look more like he belongs in the top tier.

Klobuchar has the most local endorsements in Iowa. You have to understand that this is a caucus state and having the most local facing campaign can play big if just a bit of a chance opens up.

Because Iowans know her she is the candidate with the possibility of a surprise, based on national polling.

The January debate criteria are not out yet but she made the December debate even before November and Yang has yet to do so,

Biden , Buttigeg , Sanders and Warren ….The others have almost no chance of being our nominee …..I wish future debates would be limited to the Final Four ..I know the rules won't permit this to happen ……..It's December ..It's time to get serious ..The others have been given ample opportunity to make their case to the American people ….. Bloomberg is making his case via a massive TV ad buy …..He won't be included in the debates in any case .. Like the other also-rans, he has virtually no chance of being our nominee …………. Enough with the 90 second answers on serious issues like healthcare , climate change , foreign policy and income inequality …….Time for a real debate …..

I completely agree other than Bloomberg could sneak into the top on his money alone

The rest really need to be dropped from the debates. I mean Harris dropped out and she has more support than the others that are below her.

The biggest complaint I hear is too many people are on the stage so they tune out.

I believe this reality explains why so many great people have done so poorly: With one candidate, VP Biden, far out ahead before he even announced, most of the electorate want candidates to prove similar ELECTABILITY before they'll support, and they can't. A catch-22.
