her endorsement is going to carry at least some weight. Although the odds are she won't be a VP pick, it is certainly possible, and she is a high-profile U.S. Senator.

If Mayor Pete or Bernie get the nomination then I think Kamala starts looking good as a VP pick. They don't have much African-American support and Kamala can help with that.

Very good point. If it's not Biden then the AA vote comes back into play. Yes, California will go Democratic, but a completely white, male ticket would be less likely to generate the turnout we need.

with a Stacy Abrams if by some miracle they did...but again, a candidate that can't win among one of our most important constituencies-AA voters- should not be the nominee and probably won't.

being an appropriate subject for late breaking news kind of implicitly accepted that Joe will win the nomination. It's his to lose right now.

The plain fact is that even besides his strong support in the AA community, he has decades of infrastructure and has built his campaign organization carefully. That plus very solid support from POC (although they are, of course, two parts of the same thing) are pretty much insurmountable for anyone else.

But then, things have gone to hell for more than one strong front runner for the nomination in both parties, so it ain't over until the end of the convention.

Stacy Abrams also brings the south more into play, as you say.
