There's so many out there that just need someone to talk to. I urge everyone to be on the lookout for seniors who are sitting alone, say at Starbucks etc. to just say hello and strike up a conversation. You have no idea what an emotional lift that is for someone who only has their own thoughts and memories to keep them going. Especially those who have lost their spouses,or family members who have moved away.

you must agree with him on all of them? Pope Francis thinks the elderly should be treated better, so if you also think the elderly should be treated better you clearly agree with Pope Francis - but the Pope also opposes abortion, and you agreed with him on that other thing about the elderly, so that must mean you also oppose abortion? Something like that?

Too many are estranged from their children (or parents) and even the ones that get along just fine may live a long way away.

A quick google search shows me that services are springing up to basically rent grandparents, for those who don't have any, or they aren't nearby.

I suspect we'll see a lot more of this kind of thing over time.

And the show "The Golden Girls" was really several decades ahead of its time.
