A reminder - Biden does VERY well with younger voters in GE matchups against Trump

I'm posting this as an OP because it deserves attention.

While the youngest group of voters may favor other candidates when polled only on primary-race preferences, they strongly back Biden against Trump.

Since I'd been noticing that for months now in polls that showed the age breakdown in GE match-ups, I was surprised to see anyone here would be concerned about this.

Two examples:

CNN's poll this month, which has Biden getting 52% of 18-34 year olds, compared to 39% for Trump. (With the same age group, Sanders versus Trump, the results were 52% to 41%. Same age group, Warren versus Trump, it was 47% to 43%.)

https://cdn.cnn.com/cnn/2019/images/12/20/rel14c.-.economy,.general.election.pdf

And SurveyUSA's last national GE poll, done a month ago, which some here consider the most accurate poll

http://www.surveyusa.com/client/PollReport.aspx?g=5128ee79-1b59-4146-bf80-54906bb24d4b

found 18-34 year olds choosing Biden over Trump 52% to 38%. In this poll, Warren and Sanders did slightly better than Biden with this group, Warren over Trump 55% to 35%, and Sanders over Trump 60% to 34%.

So there's no good reason for anyone to fret that younger voters won't support Biden against Trump.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Screw them. If they will only vote for someone who promises to give them free stuff, then they are selfish assholes. And if they actually end up voting for Trump, then they were never really going to vote for Sanders or Warren anyway.

And I don't care about that post.

I do care that DUers know that Biden polls well with younger voters in GE match-ups.

In case anyone is worried that he might not have their support.

college tuition. But I do think that free college and student loan debt forgiveness are major inducements for them, and a large part of the reason Sanders and Warren do as well as they do with the youngest voters in the primary race.

even though Bernie does best among younger voters than any other Democrat, and is doing more to enrol them in the Democratic Party.

Your data shows Biden getting a bigger share of the youth vote (whoever shows up at the polls, no matter how many/how few) than Trump- that’s a given for any Dem nominee.

The more important data point is, which candidate would inspire the largest number of youth voters to show up at the polls. My hunch is it ain’t Joe...
