This is what we are up against: Misleading video of Joe Biden is another test for Twitter, Facebook

"A selectively edited video of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden that falsely suggests he's making racist remarks went viral on Twitter this week, highlighting another big challenge for social media companies ahead of the 2020 US elections."

…….

"Social media companies have different approaches to misleading videos. In May, videos of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi were doctored to make it seem as if she was slurring her words. YouTube, which has a policy against "deceptive practices," took down the Pelosi video. Facebook showed information from fact-checkers and reduced the spread of the video, although it acknowledged it could have acted more swiftly. Twitter didn't pull down the Pelosi video either.
Social media companies are also grappling with deceptive videos in political ads. In October, Biden's presidential campaign asked Facebook to remove an ad by Donald Trump's reelection campaign because it contained misinformation about the former vice president. Facebook rejected that request, noting it doesn't send speech from politicians to third-party fact checkers. The Trump's campaign ad on Facebook included a 30-second video that stated Biden had promised Ukraine $1 billion if officials in that country fired the prosecutor investigating a company affiliated with Biden's son. There's no evidence to support the claim, which has been debunked by fact-checking groups and media reports."

By “it” you meant “Do not repost that video here”, is that correct?

I wasn’t sure the first time I read your posting.

videos should retain their true meaning. Those doctored to deceive should be watermarked 'PARODY' throughout.

Parodies meant to distort reality are propaganda, which is really a war time tool. So yes we are in a war.

I have been in bed sick this weekend.

There are far too many negative posts about Democrats on this board. I assumed it was one more from the heading.

The only thing DEmocrats need to do are concentrate on getting rid of Trump and MCConnell and all Republicans. We can not clean house until we do.

Sorry if I offended any one.

We all would love to see that but minions of a certain candidate who is not a Democrat are constantly in the news trying to kneecap our front runners. In this background, it is impossible for the board to stay positive.

....and yet he STILL got hire by Sanders.

It could also be the work of that Orfalea guy, the one who doctored a video of Martin Luther King. He seems to hire "only the best people". Where have we heard that before.

And still Sanders goes about his merry way, acting totally oblivious to all of this - it's all about the "corrupt system", the "corporate establishment", and everything else but his own campaign.

He publicly hired Orfala but then had to virtuously fire him when it immediately came out that Orfala produced malignantly doctored political videos and images. (Orfala's very good -- just google his name to see what Sanders campaign saw when they hired him).

So, who's working for Sanders now? Paid or unpaid. In view of his well-documented history, the answer is something the people have a right to know, and those who might support him a duty.

Note, the Republicans would only bring it all out and develop a huge scandal around his ethics and trustworthiness later. The need to know is now.

Nothing new for general elections, but it is odd to see it so blatantly in a primary election. I guess that's what happens when you have one candidate who is not actually a member of the party he's seeking the nomination for and hires disreputable people like Sirota to do his dirty work.

If I were to vote in a presidential

Joe Biden
