… because I can’t stop remembering what it was to have a POTUS and a VP whose integrity was unquestionable, and whose patriotism was as passionate as it was heartfelt.

I can’t stop recalling what it was to have a POTUS and a VP whose goals were the betterment of every citizen, and whose aims were always based not on how low we could descend, but on how high we could reach.

I can’t stop remembering what it was to have two incredibly empathetic men steering our nation towards justice and equality, working hand-in-hand to accomplish so much, while being told by their political opponents that they would never achieve anything of substance or value.

I can’t stop thinking about a time when optimism about our country’s aims was lauded the world over, a time when our POTUS and his VP were greeted with cheers wherever they went, a time when we were respected rather than feared, a time when civility was the norm and was honoured accordingly.

And I can’t stop hoping that those days will dawn again.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
