BERNIE SANDERS DOMINATES DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES AMONG COLLEGE VOTERS, NEW POLL SHOWS

https://www.newsweek.com/bernie-sanders-leads-dominates-college-students-new-poll-democratic-voters-campuses-1480628

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders continues to hold a commanding 15 percentage point lead over the rest of the Democratic presidential candidates among college students.

The latest weekly Chegg election tracker survey of Democrat or Democratic Party-leaning undergraduates across the U.S. saw Sanders close out of the year with 38 percent support - which ties his top approval rating for the year. Sanders has dominated polling at the college level through much of the 2020 campaign, although former Vice President Joe Biden has seen the most significant decline in support since the survey started last March.

According to the Chegg poll which ended December 31, Sanders is 15 points head of his next closest rival, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, who has 23 percent approval.

Sanders has overwhelmingly remained at the top of the weekly poll of 1,500 U.S. college students since March. Warren briefly overtook Sanders in mid-October before the Vermont Democratic senator saw his biggest jump in support through the remaining weeks of 2019.

I said this in response to your statement that: "A Democratic president can easily bend a Democratic Congress to do his will. If he wants to."

A hostile Congress is no more likely to agree to a small change than a big one. We can look at Obama's tenure, where opposing him become an end in and of itself.

But if history is any indication, a Democratic President will also draw in Democrats to Congress. It would be weird for people to vote in the President and not vote down-ticket. And that means Sanders would have a Congress that he can bend to his will.

Also to paraphrase Warren, why should we elect a President based on what they won't do and will never fight for?

since he's so persuasive and right about everything, maybe he should stop wasting his time with the Dems and switch to caucusing with the other side. Maybe the force of his personality can tip those 4 reluctant GOP senators to finally rebel against Moscow Mitch's dictates and actually get something done.

Now that would be a boon for the country. But I'm not going to hold my breath: I'll settle for Bernie using his current bully pulpit to make more people know how important it is to take back the Senate and to support Democratic candidates, no matter who.

The young people , Latinos , working class voters who have never attended a caucus before and Independents …… Voters can register as a Democrat on Caucus Night ….The campaign has put in a huge effort to recruit so called "non-likely voters" to support Bernie , Monday Night February 3 …...They are trying to expand the electorate …...We will soon see whether their efforts will pay off or not ….. The headline is "among College VOTERS", but the story say "among College STUDENTS". Significant because College students make unreliable voters.
