This is a Hartford Courant / Sacred Heart University poll, which is why the link below is on the Sacred Heart website.

They also did GE polling and found all 4 top candidates beating Trump by at least 13 points. Warren and Buttigieg beat him by 13 points, Sanders beat him by 16 points.
And Biden beat him by 19 points, making this one more GE poll showing Biden doing better against Trump than any of our other candidates would do.

(67,782 posts)For Democrats across the state, Connecticut appears to be Biden Country.
A new Hartford Courant/Sacred Heart poll found that most Democratic respondents would pick former Vice President Joe Biden to be the partys presidential nominee. The poll also found significant Republican support for Biden.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Given a choice of the four Democratic frontrunners Biden, Sanders, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren and South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg 33% of Democrats said they would vote for Biden, followed by Sanders at 19.3%, Warren at 17.8% and Buttigieg at 11.2%.
[Biden] is still viewed as someone whos had a very long career in government and politics, and I think theres a recognition of that lengthy career, said Lesley DeNardis, executive director of Institute for Public Policy at Sacred Heart University and the polls director. I think voters weigh that against more recent gaffes of his on the campaign trail. And I think he does prove to be a more centrist candidate than some of the others. That also puts him in good stead with the voters.
Connecticut is laden with hard core, loyal Democrats. I like to brag to my out of state Democratic friends how blue we are, probably the bluest state in the country - all of our state-wide offices are held by Democrats, our two Senators are Democrats, and all five of our Members of Congress are Democrats.
