So why is Bernie going back on his promise to release his medical records? At minimum, he should disclose whether he falls into or outside of the norm of people who are recovering from a heart attack given that Bernie is close to 80 years of age. Specifically, how will Bernie's rehab affect his ability to perform the duties of President. Is Bernie just planning on just letting surrogates do the heavy lifting?

Doctors often recommend cardiac rehabilitation after a heart attack. If it isnt offered to you, ask if its available. The foundation of cardiac rehabilitation is a personalized exercise prescription developed by a physiologist and overseen by a cardiologist, with medical monitoring that decreases as your heart health improves. There are usually four phases:
Phase 1: Walking as soon as possible after heart attack, often within 24 hours
Phase 2: Regular, monitored exercise sessions that use treadmills or exercise bikes and build up duration and intensity
Phase 3: Exercise sessions with less monitoring
Phase 4: Independent exercise without supervision.

(17,390 posts)Warren, of course, was the first to release her health records, so she deserves credit. In Bernie's case, it is particularly important, not just because of his age as you note, but because he just had a heart attack and he said he would release them.

Great questions. Lots of older folks never have even one heart attack.

(17,390 posts)Sunshine is the best disinfectant, and how can Democrats criticize Trump's own lack of transparency with respect to his health records if they nominate Bernie Sanders who has not been transparent with respect to his own health? While Bernie's campaign dismisses health concerns as a non-issue, the fact of the matter is that the health and well-being of a presidential candidate are very important issues. We can't have a candidate who similarly dismisses the concerns of the public.

The incident, which Dr. Harold Bornstein described as a "raid," took place two days after Bornstein told a newspaper that he had prescribed a hair growth medicine for the president for years.
In an exclusive interview in his Park Avenue office, Bornstein told NBC News that he felt "raped, frightened and sad" when Keith Schiller and another "large man" came to his office to collect the president's records on the morning of Feb. 3, 2017. At the time, Schiller, who had long worked as Trump's bodyguard, was serving as director of Oval Office operations at the White House.
"They must have been here for 25 or 30 minutes. It created a lot of chaos," said Bornstein, who described the incident as frightening.
