Hate to tell Bernie that ...

15 bucks an hour is not heaven, if everyone in your family including the kids is making 15 bucks an hour you might be able to afford a 2-3 bedroom apartment[2 of the three youngest sleeping in one of the bedrooms]..with Walmart food, and kohl’s half price clothing...and a 10-15 yr old car...

1. $15 is for a *minimum* wage.

Right now, the federal minimum wage is $7.25/hr. Raising it to $15 would help millions of people. Obviously, $15/hr isn't enough, and Bernie recognizes that, which is why he supports a variety of policies that would aim to increase wages for 99% of Americans.

9. After tax for a couple making $60K is a lot more than $20K. Check your math.

Yah, if you are living by yourself, on $20 K, it’s tough. That why we had roommates in the 60s. It sucked unl as you had a good one, but that’s how most people live around the world.

Mar 15, 2018 - The cost of raising a family looks very different depending on where you are. It will cost you about $58,906 a year to raise a four-person family in Brownsville, Texas, for example, but if you move to San Francisco, California, that expense more than doubles, to $148,439.

....for a 40-hour week, but they're expected to work 50-60 hours a week.

$31,000 is $15 an hour for a 40 hour week.
$31,000 is $12 an hour for a 50 hour week.
$31,000 is $10 an hour for a 60 hour week.

4. Of course that's true, but with the min. wage At $7.50, you really can't mandate it be increased

more than $15. That DOUBLE! Very few small businesses would be able to afford more, and some won't be able to handle $15! It's a much better idea to raise the min. wage every year or two.

8. Hillary spoke about a $15 min wage. The Obama then Trump voters

in the heartland wanted their $35/hr jobs back. They were not interested in anything minimum wage. Trump promised to stop illegal immigrants which translated to higher wages in the minds of some. Has not happened. Working people are fighting inflation on their own by not getting wage increases. That helps rich people do well with a long boom. Workers have not seen wage increases in this workers market. That should have the heartland hopping mad.

After deducting for taxes and Social Security, a full-time worker earning $15 an hour can afford to move into a one bedroom apartment in my apartment complex. While the complex is about 40 years old, the apartments are well-maintained and has fairly new appliances. The neighborhood is nice and reasonably quiet (other than the occasional ambulance since I'm about a half-mile away from a hospital). Rent would equal to about one-third of take home pay.

Two workers making that pay rate could get a two bedroom apartment and the rent would be less than 25% of their pay.

Don't know if a car note on top everything else would be affordable, but if you're in most urban areas then public transportation should be an option.
