watching Sen. Amy K on Seth and I just can't put my finger on why she bugs me

they showed a picture of her with McCain, Graham, Ukraine's Ambassador.

She talks about running on her record but is hanging on to McCain and talks about how much she misses him.

Did she ever talk about him before?

If I were to vote in a presidential

Analysis of Klobuchar's record in the senate places her solidly in the middle of the liberal cluster of blue dots to the left on the govtrackus.com graph, FAR from the cluster of red dots to the right. You can see she's rated high on leadership within that group, indicating strong standing among her colleagues, which is reflected in her really outstanding record of getting legislation passed.

Stopping the cursor on any dot will identify the senator.

Ideology–Leadership Chart
Klobuchar is shown as a purple triangle ▲ in our ideology-leadership chart below. Each dot is a member of the Senate positioned according to our liberal–conservative ideology score (left to right) and our leadership score (leaders are toward the top).

There are only 9 senators overall with a lower leadership ranking, and the gray dot is ranked 97th out of 100 in leadership for senators serving 10+ years.

Ranked most liberal compared to Serving 10+ Years

Got their bills out of committee the least often compared to Serving 10+ Years (tied with 1 other)

Got bipartisan cosponsors on the fewest bills compared to Serving 10+ Years (tied with 1 other)

Was 2nd most absent in votes compared to All Senators

Our unique leadership analysis looks at who is cosponsoring whose bills. A higher score shows a greater ability to get cosponsors on bills. Ranked the 3rd bottom/follower compared to Serving 10+ Years

Got influential cosponsors the 4th least often compared to Serving 10+ Years (tied with 2 others)

Introduced the 10th fewest bills compared to Serving 10+ Years (tied with 2 others)

Got the 11th fewest cosponsors on their bills compared to Serving 10+ Years

It's never wise to assume that other people "know" exactly what vague or idiosyncratic assumptions one is making in an attempt to frame an unsupported assertion as a logical argument.

Knowledgeable posters generally examine and rely on all the data from reliable and objective sources in making their arguments. It is problematic when someone accepts only bias confirming information from a reliable source and rejects the rest.

I would never assume that anyone "knows that". Some posters obviously don't.

I notice she never mentions her old pal Lindsey any more but once upon a time she'd bring both McCain & Graham up when she was patting herself on the back for "reaching across the aisle".

But I never see such criticisms made of men.

Such things as ambition, aggressiveness, over-preparedness are treated as valuable attributes in men but women who display the same qualities are looked at with suspicion and called out as "annoying" and worse.

An employer who objects to aggressiveness in women but whose positions require this trait places women in an intolerable and impermissible Catch-22: out of a job if they behave aggressively and out of a job if they do not.

I was involved in a three year lawsuit against the Goodwill, with two other women dealing with this exact issue. That said, I stand by my opinion of Amy.

and will in November if she is the nominee. Even as much as I dislike her and her inablity to take a progressive position on anything, she is still better than a Republican. But, make no mistake, she is the status quo candidate and will never, never do anything that might rock the boat even a little bit. Don't expect any meaningful change if she is elected and don't be surprised when she moves the party even further to the right.

I have been an activist in many areas and understand that progress occurs at a slow and steady pace. What makes me sad is watching everything that I have fought so hard for in my life time (I'm 76 years old) is being destroyed by the tRump administration. My main concern is to get them out of the White House. Rocking the boat is the least of my concerns. I want tRump gone. Period.

The message I get is that supporting either one of them will probably result in more incrementalism and 'go along to get along,' as if the last 40 years hasn't been enough of that yet. It also sends a clear message to people working for climate change initiatives, universal healthcare and any number of other urgent issues that if either of them is the nominee that they needn't get out and vote.

God help me I will support the eventual nominee and urge everyone I know to do the same but until that person is chosen I will continue to point out the consequences of supporting status quo, and there are many. Democrats need to stop worrying about rightwing garbage like 'how will we afford it,' 'the party has moved too far left' and similar bullshit being served up by bots and trolls.

We know what's right. Now let's just do it. We may never get another chance, literally.

I like Biden but it's strange seeing a Biden supporter being somehow surprised or maybe even questioning a friendship with McCain when Biden and McCain share probably one of the most well-known bipartisan friendships that lasted over decades. And I don't have a problem with that because friendships don't mean you absorb their views and secondly, you can still be a friend with someone who disagrees with you politically.
