Mentioning Trump and K.K.K. in Same Sentence, Biden Condemns Hate

While Biden attacks Trump, Bernie Sanders campaign continued its attacks on Democrats as he was cheered on by Trump and Breitbart.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. paid a visit to Sunday services at Bethlehem Baptist Church, a large black congregation here, urging the crowd to fight back against hatred and condemning President Trump in some of his strongest language yet for heightening racial divisions in the country.

“This president and his — the Ku Klux Klans and the rest of them, they think they’ve beaten us again. But they have no idea — we’re just coming back,” Mr. Biden told the congregation.

“I thought you could defeat hate,” he said. “But hate only hides. It never fully goes away,” he added, pointing to the outbreak of white supremacist violence in Charlottesville, Va., in 2017. “And they asked the president what he thought, and he said, ‘There were very fine people on both sides.’”

Referring to what he called a historic inflection point — when the police aimed fire hoses at civil rights activists in Birmingham, Ala., during the 1960s, galvanizing more of the country behind their movement — Mr. Biden said that the country had reached a similar moment.

I also saw ppl here digging up stuff about his stance on "bussing" back in the olden days (jk I'm old too but it was still a decade before me )

I dont follow enough detail right now in the primaries because it's too much for me to take in honestly. So I done know but I can bet Biden has even said that was a different time... I don't see Biden as having any kind of race biased bone in his body

He *is* a compassionate man and does speak to a heart space in people, i will give him that. And this was meant to be a powerful statement...especially as we are looking at something brewing at the upcoming "gun event" (right?)

yeah
big stuff...as rachel would say, stick a pin in that.

For sane people. Insane people seem to think only Trump tells the truth and everyone else (not named Fox/Limbaugh News Network) is a conspiracy against Trump and them. That is weird. Trump's history didn't start in 2015 and sane people were reading DU and learning how big a national security threat that he was then and is now. But he is now impeached - and Republicans cannot erase that. Unless they help Trump become a dictator, than all bets are off on 'cuz who writes the history?

All propaganda, all of the time.. in a couple of generations he could become the greatest President of all time! Democracy thrives on valuing public education and civic responsibility. That ain't the model for Putin/Oligarchs/Trump/Republican (POTR) vision for our future - or maybe what we some used to refer to - paranoid - as a UN inspired NWO?

Not a big surprise that Democrats are slow walking the reality to all who voted for Trump. I think when you swim way out of your depth, politically, the risks of a quick resurface could be too traumatic on the brain. More time for conversations and facts to be discussed - oxygen absorption and gradual change makes for a better long term solution, We only need to change the minds of 10% of the Republican Trump voting block. Choose a few and try to engage / change their minds.

Vote Blue No Matter Who.

Evil hides it’s face until it doesn’t when some low life demagogue get’s up on stage and ‘tells it like it is’ . The Trump administration is evil walking in broad daylight. Enough!
