I've been giving her the benefit of the doubt, but I'm beginning to wonder if I should.
For one thing, i noticed belatedly that her essay in The Cut
https://www.thecut.com/2019/03/an-awkward-kiss-changed-how-i-saw-joe-biden.html
brought up that GOP-pushed smear of Biden's behavior with Defense Secretary Ash Carter's wife while they listened to Ash speaking. Flores wrote that Biden was nuzzling Stephanie Carter's neck, when in fact the video the article links to shows it was nothing of the sort -- Biden was whispering in her ear, and she nodded and smiled about what he'd said. The Carters both made it clear, years ago, that this wasn't the gross behavior the GOP and some in the media tried to suggest it was.
Bur Flores is pushing that smear now.
She wants people to believe not only her misinterpretation of what happened to her, but her misinterpretation of Biden's interactions with other women. Misinterpretations pushed by the GOP.
She wants Biden to do "a lot more to acknowledge how his behavior might have made me and the other women he has done that to feel," according to the NYT's Sydney Ember.

Btw, the photo with that tweet, of Flores so clearly happy to be with Biden, was taken just AFTER Biden had supposedly upset her so much.
Anyway, I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt. I thought it was likely she'd made an unfortunate misinterpretation of Biden's attempt to reassure her.
But when she tries to claim she has no political motivations for making this attack now, I don't believe her. Not when she's dragging a debunked smear into it.
Sadly, Elizabeth Warren and Julian Castro have said they do believe her story. I've been seeing tweets about that in the last half hour.

At least they didn't follow this up with saying Biden shouldn't run, but I'm still disappointed in them.
It was obvious from Flores's own account that she appeared to be nervous, which would have made it likely Biden would try to reassure her. And she was self-conscious about not having washed her hair that day, so Biden being that close could have made her more self-conscious and resentful.
People misinterpret things all the time. But in this case she's using a misinterpretation -- and a misinterpretation of other women's experiences, not just her own -- to try to end Biden's 2020 run before it begins.
Oh, and regarding the photo in that tweet of Flores beaming as she stands next to Biden onstage, after the offstage incident she's tried to depict as so upsetting...
A male friend of hers had lots of pictures from that event, too. Cristobal Alex. He's told her that what she's claiming now doesn't match his recollection, or what was in the photos he took:

These are the typical tactics of one candidate to purposely weaken all opponents so they will not win the General Election because he knows in his heart that he will never win the Democratic nomination.

I don't know how to put any positive spin on her lie about Biden and Ash Carter's wife, though, since that smear was debunked years ago and she brought it up again and wrote a completely inaccurate description of what actually happened with Stephanie Carter in her essay.
