Why didn't Warren call out Bernie in December 2018?

Why wait until now? Why would she pretend to be on good terms with him for an entire year and then pull this now? It's almost like it's a dishonest, cynical move meant to help her and torpedo Bernie...

Native American ancestry. She didn’t lie. She’s just one of many millions of Americans discovering that their family stories aren’t accurate.

Kerry didn’t lie for decades that he was Irish....he really believed he was. His grandfather changed his name to avoid being persecuted for being Jewish and adopted a different background. He didn’t discover the truth till he was in his 60s.

This is happening to families by the millions. Embellishing? Lying? Believing family stories.

Bernie Sanders can commiserate with Brett Kavanaugh's supporters who have also argued why didn't Christine Blasey Ford call out Kavanaugh earlier?

https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/but-why-did-kavanaughs-accuser-wait-37-years-to-say-something/2018/09/20/04118d42-bcdd-11e8-be70-52bd11fe18af_story.html

My friend shared her #MeToo ordeal this week, inspired by Christine Blasey Ford’s allegation that she was sexually assaulted by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh when they were in high school.

“I was a preteen when I was first assaulted. Sometimes, it takes decades for victims to come forward,” she wrote on Facebook, in response to a friend who blasted Ford for waiting over 35 years to accuse Kavanaugh of attacking her.

My friend waited 40 years to speak up. She broke her silence because she’d had enough of all the doubt being hurled at Ford, the psychology professor now enduring death threats for telling her story.

My friend — a fierce reporter — understands Ford’s decades of silence.

Sanders has been lower than Biden for months. Consider that people here have to publicly declare their favorite or they are counted as undecided. If you add Warren and Sanders, the progressives are somewhat higher than the centrists (Biden, Buttigieg and Klobuchar), but compared to 2004, 2008, and 2016 -- it might be more centrist than any of those years.

Why did she wait until now?

https://www.vox.com/culture/2020/1/15/21067331/warren-is-a-snake-hashtag-explained

Why Bernie Sanders supporters are trolling Elizabeth Warren with snake emoji

In the wake of Tuesday night’s Democratic debate, one of Twitter’s trending hashtags was #WarrenIsASnake. Angry social media users have been tweeting the hashtag, along with its partner hashtag #NeverWarren, and flooding Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s replies with snake emojis.

The trend seems to have begun with some Sen. Bernie Sanders supporters, who were angry with Warren for maintaining that Sanders told her privately that he didn’t believe a woman could win the 2020 presidential election, even after Sanders denied saying any such thing. After a while, though, the hashtags continued trending not only because of anti-Warren Twitter users denouncing her, but also because Warren fans were using the hashtags to denounce Sanders and proclaim their support for Warren. (And possibly because of some bots, too. Twitter in 2020!)

But it’s notable that this ostensibly political argument is centered on the idea of Warren being a “snake” — because using the snake emoji to troll an opponent is not an idea that arose out of politics. It’s an idea that arose out of fandom. Specifically, it arose out of celebrity stan culture.

Which means that this political debate is looking less and less like a discussion about the electability of the candidates and more and more like stan trolling.

The Storm Lake Times, led by Pulitzer Prize winner Art Cullen, on Wednesday endorsed U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren for president — a highly sought-after endorsement for candidates who want to win over rural voters.

In his endorsement, Cullen wrote Warren has "developed the most extensive agenda" to lift up rural Americans. Rural Storm Lake is in deep red Buena Vista County, where registered Republicans outnumber registered Democrats 36% to 26%, and about 38% are independents.

"Warren is campaigning to give us a fighting chance," he wrote.

37. Most people don't report sexual harassment and a majority think that's a real problem
Wed Jan 22, 2020, 12:31 AM

I disagree that only women who have been physically assaulted should be believed. Most women do not report acts of harassment or discrimination, because that often results in men like Bernie denying what they said.

https://www.cnn.com/2018/09/21/politics/sexual-assault-harassment-polling/index.html

President Donald Trump has called into question whether Christine Blasey Ford was actually attacked by Brett Kavanaugh during their high school years and argued if the allegation was real, the professor would have reported it at the time.

As a result, victims of assault have been sharing their unreported stories online with the hashtag #WhyIDidntReport.

Out of every 100 incidents of rape and sexual assault, 77 weren't reported to the police in 2016, according to data by the Bureau of Justice Crime Victimization Survey, analyzed by FiveThirtyEight.

And people agree that that's a problem. Two-thirds say that real experiences of sexual harassment or assault that aren't reported is a bigger problem than false accusations that are made, according to data by the Public Religion Research Institute released in March.

Maybe she didn't know about the depth of issues with women and sexual discrimination in Senator Sanders' 2016 presidential campaign. It is also possible that she even needed off-hand statements in late 2019 and this year to get her to the breaking point that the memo to Sanders' door to door field people pushed her to. If one listens to her voice when she confronted Sanders after the debate, she was clearly hurt as well as pissed off. She likely did nothing in 2018 because she didn't want to cast a friend in a negative light and felt that Sanders would team with her to run two strong left campaigns.
