Iowa Starting Line: What Endorsements Remain? (email)

What Endorsements Remain?
With ten days to go, every candidate is looking for one last boost of momentum to get them to the home stretch. But most of the major potential Iowa Democratic endorsers are off the board, with the few remaining unlikely to make a choice. The Des Moines Register's endorsement will still be a major moment.

Here's the big-name Democrats still out there:

Rob Sand: Was close to Cory Booker's team, was at an Elizabeth Warren event lately. Still, seems like he may stay neutral. Would make the biggest media splash if he endorsed.

Cindy Axne: Hasn't been to many caucus events in the way that Abby Finkenauer or Dave Loebsack have been. She could give someone a big boost in the Des Moines suburbs if she endorsed, but at this point, seems unlikely.

J.D. Scholten: Has been very engaged with the entire presidential field, but may be looking more to maintain all those friendships.

Tom Harkin: Could still be a possibility for someone. He's gotten ever more progressive since retiring, so could make an interesting pick if he does.

Pam Jochum and Amanda Ragan: Two well-known state senators who have yet to endorse. Could make an important difference in Dubuque and Mason City, respectively.

Todd Prichard: The Democratic House leader hosted some candidates at his house early on, but will probably stay focused on his caucus and the legislative session.

Fred and Charlotte Hubbell: Could help move some undecideds in Des Moines, but unless we're mistaken, don't remember seeing them at many caucus events.

Patty Judge: Has been extremely involved in the caucus, pushing the candidates on rural issues. May stay neutral given that outreach, or could reward the Democrat she sees has had the best rural message.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
