(42,641 posts)It basically implies that many Democratic voters will not support the nominee, when the vast majority did so in 2016.

(25,476 posts)For Sanders and Yang, there are probably a lot of them.
Bloomberg probably draws a lot of Is, as well, but more of his supporters appear to get it.

(115,831 posts)is that a couple of candidates seem to attract the most fanatical supporters who, in the heat of the competition, adamantly insist that they will only vote for their candidate because all the others suck and of course they have to be true to their principles. After someone else is actually nominated and the heat subsides most of them will vote for the nominee. Some will still vote for the likes of Jill Stein, though, because their personal principles are more important than the fate of their country.

(42,641 posts)Any serious voter knew that Stein had no chance. And if one claimed to be a green voter, voting for Stein could do nothing to advance Green principles. Stein is simply looking for money, and publicity, by pretending to come out every 4 years to run for President.

(32,791 posts)It would take a statistician to give any further read on this, but the largest political party is not the Dems or the repukes, its the 100,000,000 party of the unengaged lazy voter. They like to complain, bullly and claim purity but seldom if ever vote. They have always been with us, just not as openly visible and counted.
Their main goal, make everyone as miserable as they are. Our challenge is to work with those that are willing to vote, the rest... step over and around. Let them go, you wont change their minds

(17,087 posts)I can't believe how weak Warren's support among independent voters is. Biden's weakness there doesn't surprise me at all, but his supporters do seem to routinely dismiss the importance of independents in the GE, so there you go.
