That’s why Trump is so pro-Bernie.

He hasn’t been vetted, he’s got tons of skeletons in the closet, and he’s very easy to caricature such the communist affiliations. They don’t bother me any, I don’t care, I like and appreciate him anyway but the majority of the country are not going to vote for that.

That and his very limited legislative accomplishments and we get another four years of this orange shit head. We just can’t.
/was on team Bernie in the 2016 primary
/will bust my ass for him if he wins the primary anyway
/This familiar sinking feeling that I had exactly when Hillary was the nominee, my heart telling me oh fuck me, we’re going to lose.

The Republicans otoh will put the full Trotsky on him if he’s the nominee. By the end of their convention he’d be pining for the days when he was just called a socialist. It doesn’t take much imagination to understand how far they would go. Or maybe it does, looking at the most recent polls.

That would require a whole new definition of morality to include doctored videos, entirely false articles, aides accusing opponents of sexually inappropriate behavior and calling other opponents liars on national TV.

What I Voted For - Nader's campaign made a lot of people angry, but his cause is worth the fight.

https://www.thenation.com/article/archive/what-i-voted/

Long worthless read. Change. In the air. The same crapola they're talking about today 20 years later.

"I have come to the realization that I would rather vote my conscience than vote strategically."

Good on you!

"How embarrassing it must be for Democratic senators that the embodiment of political courage in this country is now a Republican from Vermont. Maybe it’s time to stop demonizing people for their political affiliations and to follow the example of the man who risked his political future to follow the voice inside him. To reject politics as usual and follow our grassroots hearts; to form alliances in unlikely places."

I'm not sure who the Republican from Vermont is. In 2001 Vermont sent no Republicans to Congress. Could it be Bernie? He forms alliances in unlikely places. .

As for moral, how moral is a man who ignored his responsibilities and didn't support his wife, girlfriend and child in order to focus on himself and his political career. His son was 12 years old when Bernie got his first real job. Serving the needs of the poor? Well he kept them poor. Is that what Tim meant?

How moral is lying about your child's mother? It took Politico to get Bernie to change his official bio and acknowledge the truth:

"Levi was recently catapulted into the news after Politico ran a story under the headline "Bernie Sanders Has A Secret." Reporter Michael Kruse details his attempts to find out more about Sanders' the Man versus Sanders the "Democratic Socialist," and that journey led him to get confirmation from Sanders' camp of a little known fact that Levi, Sanders' only biological son, was actually not born to his first wife Deborah Messing, née Shiling, as previous reports had indicated."

Those reports were from Bernie. Who never lies we're told.

Plus he's says breadlines are a good thing. Trivializes human suffering because those breadlines were in his fave countries.

I could go on... Moral? Pfffft. More burnishing of the fable. Rumpled Socialist grandfather from leafy Vermont dreck.

15. "Republican from Vermont" - Jim Jeffords
Sun Jan 26, 2020, 11:03 AM
Jan 2020

Jim Jeffords, who switched from R to I to caucus with the Dems. Switching parties, and thus risking one's political career, does take a bit of courage. Voting for Ralph Nader certainly didn't.

Robbins is firmly in the "burn it down to save it" camp, which has no basis in reality. The same arguments were made regarding Trump and the immediate revolution predicted by Sarandon and others was clearly a figment of their own imaginations.

Or, perhaps they wanted a few decades of Republican judges and a damaged international reputation that a Democrat is going to have to restore again.

Joe Biden
