Who are the Bernie Sanders supporters here.

Four years ago, a significant number of Sanders backers were self-identified as not Democrats; primarily Socialists, Greens or Independents. Who supports him this time?

I have been a Democrat since I registered to vote 43 years ago. I do not support him as the Democratic nominee.

I will support the HELL out of him if he is the nominee. Or anyone, for that matter. Any and all are orders of magnitude better than the fucked up situation we are currently in.

after a lifetime of being an independent

Or 'decline to state' or 'no party preference' as is the definition in California.

Bernie and Tulsi are my last choices among our candidates.
I will if have to hold my nose and vote for Bernie but that would be my least enthusiastic vote ever.

In full disclosure, when I registered to vote for the first time in NY, I registered as Green (1980s) because of climate change concerns. But did then changed to independent in NYS and NPP in california.

Many of the Sanders supporting Socialists in 3016 were happy to say that they weren’t Democrats

Despite that, I always ask for a Democratic ballot in every primary and have voted for Ds since I registered.

...so you're primarily polling Sanders supporters who are Dems, and are unlikely to reach anything close to a similarly sized group of Sanders supporters who are not Dems. (Not counting states where you don't register for a party, period.)

i carry nominating petitions to get the official slate of Democratic Party candidates formally onto the ballot on election day going door to door every year.

But the thing is, I care about who supports policies that are good for our nation, and even more importantly, who can cobble together the broad array of voters needed to defeat Trump, than I do about how long anyone has or has not been a Democrat by title. Elizabeth Warren has been more of a Democrat, even though she was a Republican most of her life than Joe Lieberman will ever be, even if he lived three lifetimes.

...and I supported him in 2016. My state votes a bit later so I’ll vote for Warren if she’s still in or Bernie if she isn’t. I tend to choose the candidate I think will push the envelope furthest but there can be other policy considerations as well.

My state doesn’t require party registration so I’m not a registered anything other than voter. Not sure where that puts me in your options.

I voted for Hillary, enthusiastically in the election. In the four years since Bernie ran in 2016, he has absolutely lost me. He once again, pointedly left the Democratic party, and has done nothing in the Senate to further the programs that he champions when he is running for president.

That being said, if he is the nominee of the party, I will vote for him.

There are still a lot of things I like about Bernie, and I will support him if he gets the nomination. But I was very disappointed by the way he behaved after he lost the primaries in 2016. There was no good reason for him to wait a month to endorse Hillary. She was a class act after she conceded to Obama in 2008, and she deserved the same from Bernie in 2016. I don't know if it would have made a difference in the outcome of the election, but it definitely made me less enthusiastic about Bernie this time around.
