The attacks on Klobuchar continue - anonymously, of course.

She has been in the Senate for 11 years. Thus any aggrieved staff members have long departed, have long got another jobs. So why not come out and say the hateful things about Klobuchar for the record?

Not clear to me from which side of the political spectrum these "stories" come.

I know that with both George Will and the WSJ editorial like her, saying that only she can beat Trump (another WSJ op-ed says Beto). She can be the beacon for many who are not going to vote for Trump, but not for any self described socialist like Harris or Warren.

So either some Democrats are afraid of her, or Roger Stone et al are back with their nefarious activity.

Bottom line, as she said: yes she is tough, this was my first reaction. And I will grant the "former employees" that there is some kernel of truth. But as long as you are afraid to speak up - no one will give you any credibility.

We, on DU certainly should not.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Being President requires toughness, intelligence, and determination.

All qualities that Trump lacks, by the way.

… although I am a late decider. I know Harris as I'm from California. Klobuchar impressed me during hearings and I was happy to see her running. Her snowy speech was great. These stories about her being a taskmaster are odd... I bet the current President rants and raves more...

Are self described socialists.

As for the attacks on Klobuchar, it reeks of misogyny.

"... if you want to serve Minnesota in the United States Senate, you start by going to a lot of bean feeds. Of course, I wasn't running for the Senate in 2006, Amy Klobuchar, now our senior senator, was. And thank goodness, because I learned a lot about how to run for the Senate by watching Amy. No human being works harder than Amy Klobuchar. If Amy wasn't at a bean feed I went to, then her husband, John Bessler, and their daughter, Abigail, were there. If John and Abigail weren't there, Amy's father, Jim Klobuchar, the beloved Star Tribune columnist, was there. If none of them were there, I wondered, 'Why am I here?'"

I am a Klobuchar fan and I do believe these attacks are dishonest and calculated... but it sort of takes all the righteousness out of your argument when you call Warren and Harris "self described socialists"... you are defending one candidate against an unjustified attack as you lob one at 2 others.

to begin with, it is not free. We pay for it as part of payroll taxes, and we pay for it once we reach 65.

It is an insurance program, not healthcare one. And most of us have supplemental insurance - Medigap, or Medicare Advantage and others. Medicare is now $135 a month, and most supplemental programs are additional $130 a month so you pay $3,000 a year.

And, not all providers accept Medicare.

Sounds correct to me, at least as far as best chance. Others could defeat Trump but they would need a considerable amount of help from Trump himself, like a collapsing economy.

The basic problem is so many people are day-to-day types. They change opinions all the time and are particularly vulnerable to the most recent item on the plate. I worked under a sportsbook manager named Tommy Georgias who said his dream scenario was for every bettor to watch every game every day. He wanted nothing but a steady stream of variables because he knew that would lead to subjective opinion overload, and essentially going on tilt.

Amy right now is not going to fare well with that type. They were easily the worst handicappers in town.
