(115,103 posts)Biden is the odds-on front-runner, so I just find it surprising that people would move from his camp to Yang.
It does show Yang is able to reach all kinds of voters!

(25,476 posts)The reverse will also be true if Yang drops out at some point. There are no direct lines between supporters of one candidate and supporters of another, contrary to popular assertion. Of course, the most common assertion is that Sanders and Warren supporters are somewhat interchangeable (an assertion with which I disagree pretty vehemently, but that's beside the point), but the polls showing second choices usually show that they would move all over the place.
Voter groups aren't the monolithic blocs that many on DU seem to want to make them. Many of us like many of the candidates and it's no surprise to me that people shift allegiances between them, even ones that might seem unlikely. Our candidates have much more in common than not, and stereotyping groups of people is where we often go astray.

(115,103 posts)Tbh I hadn't paid much attention to which candidates supporters had who as their second choice, this will definitely have me looking at those polls more closely!

(13,058 posts)switch to him in a heartbeat. And maybe that is what is going on here. If they fall for the propaganda that says that only Joe can win then yes. But IMHO Bernie is best positioned to beat Trump. I think he would run the most energetic and effective campaign and he is our best chance to get rid of Trump once and for all.

(58,785 posts)by people who like him. They need to consider how millions of others view him. In reality, he's positioned extremely poorly for the GE, and the Republicans would love to run against him. Trump's started pushing Sanders' themes, and of course the Repubs always have.
I only listened to a few handful of brief stretches yesterday, but Morning Joe said a good part of the supposed impeachment "trial" was devoted to bashing Biden. "They are so afraid of Joe Biden. This is unbelievable. Their entire day was focused on their #1 fear."
I especially like Ben Wittes' summary of the Republican's impeachment "trial" message: "It didn't happen, it doesn't matter if it did, and Joe Biden sucks."
