@KamalaHarris in Ankeny: We know that there are folks who are trying to tell us that it is us versus them, but that is not reflective of America ... We are a very diverse country and there is power and strength in that. #IACaucus

(67,782 posts)Kamala Harris will be our next President, and we'll be proud of a President once again.
January 20, 2021.
Reserve the date!

(10,721 posts)...Kamala Harris is our nominee. I think those clamoring for a white male are misguided and misunderstand our electorate.

(28,270 posts)I thought we were looking for the best qualified candidate and the one with the best shot at defeating Shitler.
I didn't realize there were qualifiers that automatically eliminate the "wrong" kind of people! SMH
BTW I was a huge supporter of Hillary in 2016 and it wasn't because she was a woman, it was because I thought she was the best candidate for the job at the time.

(10,721 posts)Demographics do matter in terms of turnout, which is directly related to having the best shot at winning (i.e., turning out the Obama coalition and then some). And studies have made clear that the interests/concerns of women and persons of color are, generally speaking, best represented by women and persons of color in public office.
But there was nothing in my post that suggested I'm supporting Kamala Harris simply because she's a woman. Nice try, though.

(7,277 posts)a white male stands the best chance of being elected.

(8,685 posts)There are others candidates who could win but Kamala is the best.
She has it all. Strong, smart, witty, no nonsense, experienced, excellent liberal/progressive background. I also really like her style and presence on a stage and in interviews. She has the look and feel of a leader.. like presidential. She also has a great campaign manager.

(28,270 posts)In the end, I'm voting for whichever democrat that ends up running against the traitor Trump of course.
Lots of people here seem to have the whole contest figured out ahead of time which is pretty amazing, I must say.
With their insightful power of foretelling the future, I wish they would give me the winning powerball number.
I sure could use the $$$!

(10,014 posts)We've had too many years of repugs getting all the news coverage. The 6:00 news tonight had a lengthy interview with Harris, a short interview with Gabbard, and a promotion of DeBlasio's visit tomorrow. Love it!

(86,008 posts)...she intends to win those, of course, but if she stays close to the top she'll move easily into the next contests, like SC and California where she'll likely rule.
