Per NYT:
DES MOINES A Democratic super PAC will begin airing attack ads in Iowa against Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont on Wednesday, marking the first time a Democratic organization has run a negative campaign spot targeting Mr. Sanders by name in either of his two primary campaigns.
The ad, backed by Democratic Majority for Israels political action arm, comes as concerns among moderate Democrats mount that Mr. Sanders could win Iowa, setting the avowed democratic socialist on a possible path to the nomination. With Mr. Sanders leading in some polls ahead of the Feb. 3 caucuses, the spot is the first sign of a still-disjointed effort to stop his rise by the moderate wing of the party.
It also signals a new line of attack against Mr. Sanders. For much of the Democratic nomination race, his rivals have focused on his policy positions, arguing that his proposals for Medicare for all and free public college are too expensive and unfeasible.
While Democratic Majority for Israel is focused on raising support for Israel within the party, its spot targets the dominant concern among many Democrats in Iowa and elsewhere: beating President Trump.

(280 posts)is how not just the media but everyone seems to think that Bernie is going to grab the nomination after Iowa and New Hampshire...as if there aren't any other states to compete in.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
They're clowns. Why I haven't watched TV news in 20 years. 538 had Sanders up .5% in Avg. today. NH is Sanders. He'll get a bigger chunk of 33 than Biden. Next is Arizona where Biden leads. Arizona negates both Iowa and NH. S. Carolina is Biden's. Sanders campaign is doing spin. A win there means nothing. Why? Because it's close to Super Tuesday and no one will pay attention, LOL Pure spin. The states polled on 538 have Sander's up in 8. Biden up in 10 just in South. Smallest margin in South is 7 in Texas. Sanders only big leads are NH and Utah. The six other States are close. One at 3%. Rest 1.3% or under. Yeah. Let's give up after first two. Like Bernie dd in 2016.

(1,812 posts)And now it has arrived . Bernie's "Crime" ...He's leading the polls in Iowa and NH .I hope and believe the people of Iowa will see through these desperation ploys Perhaps it will backfire ..Paul Begala serves on the board of the organization that is preparing to attack Bernie ...He should either resign from his role as CNN political pundit or be fired by CNN forthwith .. (38,687 posts)Losing in Arizona and S. Carolina. Arizona has as many delegates roughly as both Iowa and NH. Negates both of them. South Carolina in bag for Biden.

(38,687 posts)IOW he's fucked.
Actually he's double fucked.
"Haim Saban, Israeli-American billionaire co-creator of Power Rangers and top Democratic donor, criticized Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) for their stances on Israel in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter.
Several of Sanders's presidential campaign advisers have ties to the anti-Israel community, and Ocasio-Cortez has compared supporters of Israel to supporters of the Iraq War.
"We love all 23 candidates," Saban told the Hollywood Reporter. "No, minus one. I profoundly dislike Bernie Sanders, and you can write it. I don't give a hoot. He's a communist under the cover of being a socialist
So, 22 are great. One is a disaster zone."

(146,384 posts)Israel is more favored than Palestine. And that's what this is all about. Bernie's position on Israel/Palestine is way less popular that is good for him in the Jewish community, and even in the general population. He is taking a minority position, and this is the result of that.
I"m not arguing which position is the best one; I'm just saying that Bernie's position is less popular.
