Why I'm for Warren

Courtesy of The Rude Pundit:

".... one of the mistakes of the Obama administration was, to put it simply, letting the Bush administration and its enablers get away with it. The fact that no one was prosecuted for the war in Iraq, for the torture policy, for the near-collapse of the world economy essentially wiped the slate clean for others to eventually do worse. And....the 2006 and 2008 elections had punishing Republicans implicit in their heavily Democratic outcomes. Not doing so has led to the GOP breaking every norm, violating every tradition, and wrecking the joint with Trump."

I would argue that this is why we ultimately fell victim to reagan, poppy, dubya, and now the orange anus-- WE'VE BEEN LETTING THEM GET AWAY WITH IT SINCE NIXON. If nixon and ALL of his cabal-- not just a couple handfuls of fall guys-- had been prosecuted to the full extent of the law, we never would have gone down this path. Every time we gave an inch and looked the other way, they took a mile.
We are either a nation of laws, or we are not, and we have been prancing around and talking about "decorum" for far too long. Now we have ended up (hat tip to Mencken for predicting it) with an unhinged boor flailing around in the highest office in the land.

To my eyes, Warren is the only candidate who is willing to MAKE THEM PAY. As we have seen time and time again, a conciliatory attitude does not work. republicans do not give an inch, and neither should we anymore. This is not about playing nice. It is not about reaching across the aisle.

It is about saving this republic.

IT IS TIME TO MAKE THEM PAY, OR ALL IS LOST.

Yes I will vote for Biden, but if he doesn’t get the nomination, I hope she wins it. I will work for her if she does.

between Warren and the field. I’m already aware of but perhaps don’t give it the credit it deserves. Elizabeth Warren is among my front runners — it’s a ways to go before the Oregon primary so I’m not rushing my decision at this point. But I’ll definitely keep your post and it’s spot on message in mind.

Having said that, I also want to say that I really can’t fault Obama. He had the best interests of our nation in mind. He took a chance in taking the high road knowing it was the best one for our country — if it worked. It was a big “if” but one he obviously thought he had to take. It’s what I like to think most of us would have done were we in his shoes. It didn’t work out. Not because of him, but because of the cancer that has taken hold of the GOP.

That is all in the past though. We’ve learned a lot. We were mistaken as a whole. But I hope we’ve learned from that mistake. We shouldn’t and I hope we don’t make that same mistake again.

While Liz would have a slightly better chance than Bernie.... she would likely lose to Trump.

If Trump wins, all is lost.
