New Beatles Single? - "Here, there, everywhere, the Yankee will die"

There goes my ex-wife's vote!

'What are capitalism and communism? “Capitalism is the exploitation of man by man!” And communism? “The other way around.'

Bernie Sanders Gets Snippy with Reporter for Asking About Anti-American Chants at 1985 Rally

<snip>

"Independent Vermont Senator and Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders repeatedly questioned the “understanding” of a reporter who asked him if he remembered hearing anti-American chants at a 1985 rally in Nicaragua, which Sanders attended.

Sanders requested the interview with New York Times reporter Sydney Ember after Ember’s article about Sanders’ foreign policy activism in the 80s was published. Sanders was a vocal and active opponent of the United States’ backing of the “Contra” rebels against the Sandinista government.

One focus of Embers’ interview was reporting that anti-American chants like “Here, there, everywhere, the Yankee will die” broke out during a rally that Sanders attended. Ember tried to nail down whether Sanders remembered hearing the chants, and remaining at the rally in spite of them. Sanders impatiently questioned the reporter’s understanding of the issues, before finally denying he remembered the chants:

You do recall hearing those chants? I think the wire report has them saying, “Here, there, everywhere, the Yankee will die.”

They were fighting against American —— Huh huh —— yes, what is your point?

What's your point? The point is...there goes South Florida. And Connecticut.

Daniel Inc: How Nicaragua's Ortega financed a political dynasty

"Since taking office in 2007, Daniel Ortega has funneled more than $4 billion in Venezuelan petro-dollars through 'Albanisa', a spider's web of companies controlled by the Sandinista Front, outside state controls. The accumulated Venezuelan debt now hangs over the country, dwarfing the financial crisis over its social security system that sparked massive street protests."

But...but...schools. Yeah, but if you don't sing loud enough during the Sandanista sing-along every morning, outside you go to pick-up trash.

Why not attack and/or dissect the quote rather than diverting attention to who created the graphic.

And he's companion quote for you, uttered by someone during the time the New Deal was being implemented:

To dole out relief in this way is to administer a narcotic, a subtle destroyer of the human spirit. It is inimical to the dictates of sound policy. It is in violation of the traditions of America.

The Federal Government must and shall quit this business of relief.

that brings up less than flattering - or not consistent with his claims about his own life and statements - that goes public.

The rest of the population is not simply going to reject all fact checking and his record on issues as "attacks." They could affect his credibility with many people.

He lied about his son's real mother for decades. He bullied the press into not asking him questions. There's a lot out there that's going find its way into the campaign.

'...the fact that the mother of his one biological child is not his ex-wife. That’s a surprise to some who have known him for decades. It’s also very much a product of an unwritten compact between Sanders, his supporters and local reporters who have steered clear rather than risk lectures about the twisted priorities of the press."

However it's great opposition research against him for those who don't know Latin American history.

The Somoza regime in Nicaragua was a brutal US puppet regime. The Sandinistas rightfully won a revolution against the Somoza government. He was bombing his own people at the end. Their government was made up of a mix of socialists, clergy and businessmen. It was not communist, it was idealistic and for a while worked to help the people of Nicaragua. At the time I believe it was the poorest country in the hemisphere.

Let's remember the truth about the United States and Latin America. Let's not forget about Ollie North, the Contras and Reagan. I believe John Bolton was also involved!
