This is part of Vox's series making the case for each candidate:

Rep. Conor Lamb, 35, won a special election in the suburbs of Pittsburgh 18 months after Trump carried the district by 20 points. His campaign made time for only one national surrogate: Biden.
-snip-
Lamb is now endorsing Biden to be the Democratic nominee, and hes in good company. Biden has far more endorsements from elected officials than any other candidate. The FiveThirtyEight endorsement tracker, which keeps track of high-profile endorsements and weights them by influence, has Biden scoring 237 points nearly triple the second-place candidate, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who scores an 81. Sen. Bernie Sanders trails Warren at 55. Sen. Amy Klobuchar is next with 50.
-snip-
Biden seems to have an edge in battleground states, but the top Democratic candidates all tend to outperform Trump in head-to-head polling. The case for Biden is about his potential to do one more thing: take back the Republican-controlled Senate.

(146,317 posts)We MUST win in November, and there is a huge amount of work that needs to be done, just to get things back to the state they were in when Trump took office. If we can do that, we'll have accomplished a great deal. Then, we can move on to enact more progressive legislation. First, though, we have to fix the damage Trump has caused.
Joe Biden is the ideal person to make that happen.

(804 posts)Winning the GE in 2020 should be our ONLY priority. Joe is our best chance to do this IMO. To win the GE. a candidate must be able to appeal to a large group of voters, from moderates in the Midwest, African Americans, and progressive Democrats, Independents and Never Trumpers. Joe is a likeable, decent person with immense experience on the world stage who can do this. Our allies trust him. To win in the electoral College we must win in MI, PA, and WI. I have nothing against Bernie. I just think his ideas are too far left to appeal to as many different voters than Joe can. I keep seeing all the posts that say centrists and moderates are "attacking" Bernie. Not so! As a proud lifelong Democrat, I am dismayed at reading all of these divisive posts. I, for one, cannot wait until primary season is over. Interestingly enough, I have only seen these posts from Sanders supporters. I have not noticed these type of divisive posts from those who support other candidates. We do not need a repeat of 2016. That is Putin's goal. Divide the Democrats, and cause a chaotic convention...that will lead to another term for Trump.
