Sanders endorses 9 progressive House candidates

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) endorsed nine additional progressive Congressional lawmakers and candidates on Wednesday.

The endorsements for the nine progressive House contenders cover a string of races across the country, from New York to Texas to California. None are in particularly tight races, and most of the endorsees have backed Sanders’ presidential bid.

The nine Democrats endorsed by Sanders are: Jessica Cisneros of Texas, Georgette Gómez of Texas and Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.), Ro Khanna (Calif.), Ilhan Omar (Minn.), Mark Pocan (Wis.), Ayanna Pressley (Mass.), Rashida Tlaib (Mich.) and Peter Welch (Vt.).

Sanders had previously announced his endorsements for Cori Bush in Missouri and Mari Newman in Illinois.

“This is the most important election in our lifetime and I’m proud there are so many candidates running for Congress who understand that real change comes from the bottom on up, not the top on down,” Sanders said in a statement. “They’re all strong advocates for real change and together we will build a movement to transform this nation so that it works for all our people.”

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

he is building a movement that will continue to grow for generations.

it took 20 years, a world war, natural disasters (the 1927 flood and the dust bowl) and a great depression for the progressive movement to flower into the new deal. Bernie has revived that spirit.

She's going to be a strong fighter for progressive causes for many decades to come.

#3 Eliot Engel - above 99% of Democrats, he's being primaried by Justice Democrats,
#7 Grace Meng - above 99% of Democrats, she represents the Queens district that abuts the NY 14th to the east
#9 Carolyn Maloney - above 96% of Democrats, she represents the Queens district that abuts the NY 14th to the west
#29 Ro Khanna - above 87% of Democrats
#31 Mark Pocan - above 87% of Democrats
#53 Peter Welch - above 77% of Democrats
#57 William Clay - above 75% of Democrats, he was primaried by Justice Democrats in 2018,
#97 Hakeem Jeffries - above 58% of Democrats, Justice Democrats is considering putting up a primary opponent

#117 Rashida Tlaib, above only 49% of Democrats
#122 Ayanna Pressley, above only 47% of Democrats
#161 Ilhan Omar, above only 31% of Democrats
#170 Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, above only 26% of Democrats

Seriously? He endorsed Progressive Dems across the board.

But they lost so screw him, right?

More garbage. He didnt endorse a freaking Republican.
