Back in the Tent? Jane Sanders Gives Kudos to Staffer Axed For Racist Video

A little background first..

?

ROFL look at that list...Jane Sanders, John Cusack, Susan Sarandon, and Jimmy Dore?

What if I told you Jimmy Dore was Sean Hannity’s clone?

"The nexus between Fox News, GOP conspiracies, the far-right, and the reactionary left has kicked into high-gear over the last 3 months, correlated directly by the official announcement of the probe into Donald Trump purportedly conditioning aid in Ukraine to dig up dirt on political opponent Joe Biden.

Jimmy Dore has adopted the most sensationalist, far-right conspiracies incubated on the web, name-dropping CrowdStrike, to defend Trump asking Zelensky to “do us a favor” and “find out what happened” to a data server that does not exist."

Bernie Sanders’s recent rise in the polls has elicited an entirely predictable reaction from all the usual suspects who make up America’s op-ed pages. But, personally offended as the chatterati are, there are signs that the prospect of a Sanders victory in the Democratic primary contest is awakening an altogether more vicious beast that’s long been in the Vermont senator’s crosshairs.

This week, NBC, the Associated Press, and Politico all reported on the emerging anxiety within elite Democratic circles about Sanders’s ascent in the polls and nascent efforts by operatives to arrest his momentum. As journalist Andrew Perez noted, all three reports cited one Matt Bennett, cofounder of the organization Third Way, who issued boilerplate warnings about the supposed dangers of a Sanders nomination. In a pattern that is almost certain to be repeated in the coming weeks and months, Bennett’s intervention was framed as an earnest expression of concern by a moderate Democrat mindful of taking what he believes to be a major political risk.

But it was actually something else, given Bennett’s job at a self-identified “think tank” that has received extensive contributions from corporate patrons, including health insurance company Humana and Koch Industries. Washington is packed with groups like Third Way and others in the same mold, the function of which is to provide a layer of institutional sediment separating corporate interests from the mouthpieces they fund to advance their interests. In the gelatinous mass of lobbyists, megadonors, corporate spokespeople, and political operatives resulting from this arrangement, it can often be difficult to tell where the private sector ends and the public sector or party apparatus begins.

Nonetheless, Bennett’s anguished intervention is a telltale sign that panic about Sanders is starting to spill outside the op-ed pages and into the boardrooms of corporate interests — from pharmaceutical companies to Wall Street investment firms — who have an immediate pecuniary interest in opposing his program. If Sanders’s performance in the first round of primaries and caucuses matches current expectations, big business will undoubtedly intensify its efforts to stop him — likely aided, as in this case, by centrist Democrat operatives who sit at the noxious juncture of party politics and corporate agitprop.

"The rest of the post provides a very detailed account of Mendieta’s working experience in the Sanders campaign, and how, according to Mendieta, Carmona was protected by other make Sanders campaign officials. Near the end of the post, Mendieta wrote this:
We all knew Arturo would book flights back home to California using the campaign travel agency despite it being against policy. We all know that the immigration policy he keeps touting as his pièce de résistance was actually the work of Erika Andiola and Cesar Vargas. In fact, we all wrote the policy memos. I can’t think of one he did himself while I was there. We all saw how he would demean the female staff, treat us like his personal assistants fetching things for him and doing his errands, while he never asked male staff with the same titles to do any of that. I remember being told by a Latino staffer that the first question Arturo asked when he hired me was: “Is she cute?” When I looked horrified, he clarified: “He asks that about all the women he hires""

33. Be Your Own Hero -- Because Bernie Is Not It
Thu Jan 30, 2020, 01:16 PM
Jan 2020
Almost two years ago, I first came out publicly about the sexism and sexual harassment I experienced and witnessed while working on the Bernie 2016 campaign.

snip=================================================================================

Yes, before I ever even came out publicly about Arturo Carmona, Bernie did know. He knew everything. He heard the whole sordid tale and still considered endorsing Arturo. And when asked by the press about it after I came out, he feigned ignorance and still refused to condemn him. Is that the reaction you expect from a hero?

Many of you asked me what Bernie had to say, assuming him or someone from his team obviously would have reached out to me after the story broke. No, he did not and they did not. It was crickets. And lest you think it some inflated sense of self, how would you react if you were a politician and this story emerged about your own campaign (that is, if you are a feminist)? I would’ve immediately picked up the phone, reached out, apologized, soothed, promised to investigate, something, anything. But Bernie (and his team) did nothing. Instead, I got blacklisted.

I predict that if Sanders is the nominee...AA won't turn out for him in the numbers we need and his Rogan buddies were always going to vote for Trump in the General. Sanders will lose the general.

Sure I hold my nose and vote for Sanders in a General...I have always voted for the Democratic nominee..but you are kidding yourself if you believe some who truly dislike the way Sander's has conducted his campaign and his hires etc won't stay home...not people here of course but enough to throw the election to Trump. What some don't understand is the our reclaiming the blue wall states is only possible with a large AA turnout...and Sanders blew it with them. There is no going back. If he is the nominee, he loses and we lose as a party and a country. The progressive movement is gone. I sincerely hope Sanders will not be the nominee and I don't see any surge so maybe we get through this and have a nominee like Biden or even Warren with the right VP who can win.

I mean, 99% of the people who view that video will understand that it's a parody showing how media can be manipulated. Just by the title.

Beyond that, 99% of people will never see that video because they don't really care what videos people who made videos retweeted by Bernie's wife made ten years ago. (Even explaining the "scandal" is a mouthful lol)

Like Joe Rogan said, if you take any person and highlight the very worst thing they ever did, you can make them look bad. Again, 99% of people will agree with Rogan on this.

But this isn't even something Bernie did. It's not something his wife did. It's something that a guy who made a video that was retweeted by Bernie's wife did.

I mean, I'm sure some people do, that's a whole different thing than some random parody video from ten years ago. Those segregationists were actually racist, they didn't just make a parody video. And Biden described them as good friends, it's not just like his wife retweeted one of their videos.

He has a brother with special needs. Perhaps we should ask his brother how he feels about being called "handicapped".

Never use the term “handicapped parking.” Use “accessible parking” instead.

Handicapped parking is still in use (e.g., when referring to parking placards), though the word “handicapped” is offensive and has been virtually eliminated in most other contexts. Remove it from your organization’s vocabulary completely by using the term “accessible parking.” (It’s also more accurate, as accessible describes the parking and handicapped does not.)
