Prediction: Elizabeth Warren wins the Iowa Caucus

Undecided progressives will be attracted to Warren's unity message. I don't know who will place second but I expect nonviable moderate votes to go to Biden making ti close between Biden and Sanders.

I'm probably wrong, but I'm getting 2004 vibes.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

I totally agree about your choices. Warren at least explains her positions respectfully and thoughtfully, as if people have a right to know information. I appreciate that.

Some of the folks supporting the Senators you name are far to the left.

Yet, even Senator Sanders himself would be a little to the left of center in most first world countries around the world. His proposed tax rate isn't as high as David Dwight Eisenhower's was.

This is the country that passed the law to create land grant colleges during our civil war so that education would be affordable. It used to be.

This is the country that gave away most of its land area under the various homestead acts.

Theodore Roosevelt tried to get a national health service.

Neither Senator Warren, nor Sanders are too far left. That is simply what GOP kleptocrats want you to believe.

And as a Warren supporter I love never having to worry about Ayanna Pressley messing up. Charles Pierce says she’s tearing it up out there for EW, like anyone who follows her knew she would. No bad headlines included.

That was Kerry who was about 3 points ahead in averages. Right now Bernie is about that much ahead in averages. If it were to be like 2004 Bernie will pull out about 37% like Kerry did, only because he is the rcp poll leader.

the winner.

They did two detailed scenarios, one with Biden winning and one with Sanders winning, and in both the winner got 13 delegates, the next two got 10 or 11, and the 4th place finisher got 7 or 8 delegates.

They don't expect her to fall below 15%.

Link to the article

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/election-2020-battleground-tracker-what-could-happen-in-iowa-monday-2020-02-02/

and this is what they wrote about how she could win (they also did a paragraph on how Buttigieg could win):

And Warren is above the cutoff line at 16% statewide — last week, our poll had her right on it — and in position to pick up national delegates. She stands to gain if Sanders' backing isn't spread out across the state. She could also gain in places where the three candidates ahead of her split the vote more evenly. In particular, Warren could gain in places where Klobuchar's supporters do not make threshold. Besides Biden, Warren (and Buttigieg) are their second choices more so than Sanders.

Iowa is NOT going to be decisiive.

Not for the top 4 candidates, anyway.

natesilver: According to our polling average — well, FiveThirtyEight didn’t exist back then, but this is what you’d get if you calculated a polling average in the same manner we do now — Dean peaked at 29 percent in Iowa about 12 days before the voting there.

His polling average was down to 22 percent on the night of the caucuses. Then he actually got 18 percent at the caucus itself.

I hope your prediction about Elizabeth Warren is correct but you have the history of 2004 wrong.
