Why not hold the caucuses on a Saturday?

Fewer people (not all obviously) work or attend classes. Sometimes it's tough for people to work a full day and then go and caucus at night for what could be several hours especially if they have children. Just an observation.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Really, election days should just be holidays, and people should have a way to vote if they still can't make it to the voting location (i.e. mail-in ballots or something).

Why have caucuses at all? All voting should be held on weekends , for that matter.

Especially since Iowa is so early and there are still several candidates. Ranked choice voting would be really important. It would give the benefit of a caucus without the bullshit and limitations.

Some people want to express their true first choice. Even if they suspect that first choice might not get enough support to be viable.

The caucus adds the peer pressure - that's the bullshit I was talking about. With RCV (typically also known as IRV although instant run-off voting is only one methodology), you can have the run-off / realignment process that allows people to both express their first choice, and not throw away their vote - without the peer pressure / bullying potential of the caucus system.

I wish we could do something different.

It’s nice to get together with fellow Democrats but at the same time we need a system that slows more people to express their choices. The caucus cuts out people who are working or traveling.

I’d rather have a rotating primary where everyone in this country gets a chance at being first and not just the people in Iowa.
