Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumJust a friendly reminder that Bloomberg endorsed Susan Collins over Democrat Shenna Bellows
in 2014. As such we have Kavenaugh on the Supreme Court and the GOP tax scam as she was the deciding vote for both. Come on Democrats we can do better than Republicans like Mike as our nominee, right?

(6,044 posts)I don't think so.
It is 2020. Bloomberg is a huge supporter of the Democratic party and democrats.
He is not criticising our party. He is fighting Trump. I can't waste my vote by using it as a punishment. I need to use it to combat the clear and present danger today.
There is no candidate with whom i agree 100%. If Bloomberg can win for the party I will support him.

Although I'm not a Biden supporter, I would vote for him over Bloomberg with all the bull $*** he's done to my community. That hurts to think of someone in that way, I feel the same about him as I do Trump, hatred is bad for your health.

(5,644 posts)maybe I'm too dumb to understand. What you said above told me nothing.
I only came back to this board when it was time to elect a new President and found everybody hating on Bernie.
I'm confused as hell.
But thanks anyway for your kindness.

(5,644 posts)WOW... and Hillary is still talking about it too in 2020?
When Trump won, I didn't want to think about politics, so I stop listening or reading anything about it until it was time to elect a new President. Then I came back here, I thought among friends. Probably a big mistake I guess.

(1,115 posts)All in an egotistical move to get the nomination this year after Trump won.
EVERY Democrat I know agrees and more than 4 out of 5 swear they will never vote Sanders in a GE regardless.
And quite frankly, I have absolutely no way to convince them to do what I would do in that situation and just buck up, hold their noses and vote for him..
As I said, he has Berned a lot of bridges in the past five years.
My biggest fear is a good percentage will just sit out the election and let the chips fall where they may at all levels instead of just not voting for the top of the ticket and hitting all the Dems below. Should Sanders be nominated, that will be where my main focus will be, those who decide they will sit it all out. I want to get them to at least show up and vote for the down ticket races, all the while hoping that while in the booth they will finally decide to just buck up, hold their nose, and vote for the guy.

Last year, there were seven swing districts in New York and Bloomberg supported Republicans in two of them," Democratic political consultant Monica Klein said.
Klein was a spokeswoman for Democrat Liuba Grechen Shirley, who waged a spirited challenge against Long Island Congressman Pete King, a longtime Bloomberg ally.
"Pete King has always been a standup guy," Bloomberg said in a 2011 news conference at City Hall.
Bloomberg backed King, hosting a fundraiser for him. King won by six points.
Bloomberg also backed another longtime Republican ally, Staten Island Congressman Dan Donovan, in his unsuccessful re-election bid against Democrat Max Rose.
But Rose holds no grudge; he told us that the Democratic Party should welcome all, no matter their past affiliations.
"I have no problem with people who are independent thinkers and who choose to support people who are at times across the aisle," Rose said.
What Bloomberg Did and Didn't Do When It Came to Taxing Wealthier People
As mayor,Bloomberg endorsed President George W. Bush for re-election over Democrat John Kerry.
"The president deserves our support," he said in 2004.
Bloomberg helped Republicans maintain their slim majority in the state Senate, where they successfully blocked progressive legislation for years.
And as Democrats seek to win control of the U.S. Senate, it's notable how many Republican senators Bloomberg has backed in recent years:
Pennsylvania Sen. Pat Toomey
Late-Arizona Sen. John McCain
Maine Sen. Susan Collins
Former Illinois Sen. Mark Kirk
Former Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch, among others. And as Democrats seek to win control of the U.S. Senate, it's notable how many Republican senators Bloomberg has backed in recent years:

He's not a mob boss and he's not working to undermine our democracy to my knowledge. He's not my choice for many reasons but if he ends up being it then he's got my vote.

When I was in college, I supported a republican over a democrat because she had a big reputation on consumer advocacy, she won and slowly drifted toward batshit crazy, and I have never cast a vote for a republican since.
