Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumI want to know what Steve Bannon said.
If you don't know what your enemies are up to how can you possibly defeat them? Do you think Lincoln didn't want to know what Jefferson Davis was up to? Yep, that's my analogy,

It's a Democratic political discussion board - not a damn cheerleading site.

(16,616 posts)I'll just briefly say this: With respect to one of his comments, he's got a point. The others I don't agree with.
He might be correct about the "effect" but I think he's wrong about the "cause."
And leave it at that!

(5,790 posts)On Friday nights Real Time, Trumps former White House chief strategist rebutted Mahers criticism that the Democratic party loses elections because of the flawed electoral college in which a senator in Wyoming represents 290,000 people and the senator (in California) represents 20 million.
This is what I love about you guys youve got to whine about everything, Bannon snapped back. With this attitude were going to keep winning.
Bannon went on to say that Sanders has been screwed by the Democratic party, citing what many are calling a debacle of an Iowa caucus. Bernie voters are (going to do) what they did in 2016 either dont vote or come vote for Trump.

Rather than stick heads in the sand, it'd be a better use of the time to counter the talking point for conversations with coworkers and crazy uncles. I happen to disagree with the talking point.

(29,263 posts)As are some here. Thanks for seeing through it. It is 3-dimensional chess. If people want to help their candidate, lauding their candidate works well and doesnt divide the party. The non-stop candidate-slamming by some is toxic to the party, and the opposite of clever.

In the Newsweek link above, he's arguing that the Democratic Party is screwing Bernie Sanders. He is also arguing that if Bernie Sanders does not win, that his supporters will screw up the Democrats enough that Trump will win.
This is exactly the kind of nonsense that we can expect from a piece of crap like Steve Bannon. He's trying to divide Democrats and make them go after each other.
I will support Bernie if he wins. If not, I will support whoever does win. Steve Bannon can crawl right back under the rock he crawled out from.

(2,042 posts)But I have to admit as I was sitting there watching the segment it struck me how the mighty have fallen. Four years ago he helped elect a fascist game show host president. Played a big role in that. He had big aspirations for his fascist summer camp in Italy and that went up in flames. Now? As his God enters his re-election campaign Bannon is hosting...a podcast. I have to think it crushes him not to be with Dump daily and directly involved.

(22,156 posts)around, it was HRC to blame. This time around, it's the 'Democratic Party'. Oh no!
And the one about the Democratic Party is owned by Wall Street and corporate interests. A usual accusation (and Bannon should know better). He's full of BS as usual, and all he's doing is sprouting nonsense to pretend/show that's he is still relevant.
I am wondering why Bill M. gave Bannon a platform to mouth off on. As usual, Bannon is sprouting off nonsense w/ no actual facts to back them up:
+++Where have we heard this before? Bill snarked, "God forbid the corporate interests ever got their tentacles into the Republican Party, that would be a bad day."+++
And accusing us of whining...ha ha, I laugh, especially when the current occupant of the WH seems to gripe and moan every single hour...This is what I love about you guys youve got to whine about everything, Bannon snapped back. With this attitude
were going to keep winning.
