Tomorrow may be my Gene McCarthy vote, 52 years later. n/t

If I were to vote in a presidential

speak months earlier, had been able to shake his hand, and it felt like the bottom fell out of the world when he was assassinated.

But it was important to win, so I backed Humphrey.

I never understood the people who didn't vote because they didn't get their preferred candidate.

have endured stems from not voting for the Democratic nominee and in mid terms...the GOP are smaller in number but always vote. I hope history does not repeat this year...thank you for the information .

the far right, manic 'tailgunner Joe' McCarthy. Enough to discourage LBJ from running.

Despite the boom times and tremendous, historical Great Society [Medicare, voting rights, civil rights for minorities and women, etc.], programs that benefit all of us tremendously today - nasty nixon got into the WH . . . and fomented the disastrous 70's, of bad inflation and 14% mortgages and 20% t-bills.

[nixon gutted the gold standard-stable dollar to set off the inflation in trying to goose the economy for his re-election. trump way well try to do still more to try and manipulate the stock market, etc. to boost his re-election].
