If we get to the convention without a nominee with the required delegates

would the Amy, Pete, Biden, Bloomberg, Elizabeth Warren and the Sanders block get together, and unite behind one of those candidates?

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

It will be an open convention and, ok, let me qualify this, VIRTUALLY everyone will get behind the candidate that came in with the most delegates.

Failing to do so would blow the party apart and get Trump re-elected.

Sorry to keep repeating that, but it's the painful truth. The nomination cannot be denied to the person coming in with the most delegates. Anything else would be political suicide for the General Election.

There will also be questions about whether one of the candidates was stronger at the end than at the beginning. Mon Feb 10, 2020, 09:47 PM
Feb 2020
Theoretically, pledged delegates are pledged to vote in the manner in which their district voted. They do sign a pledge to vote as representative of the people. However, there is a loophole, especially in the way the Democrats handle their National Convention. A pledged delegate on voting day does not have to cast his/her vote based on his/her pledge. There is no special monitoring of this — it is only assumed the delegate will cast the vote for the candidate to which he or she is pledged.

If pledged delegates choose or are instructed to vote contrary to their pledge on the first ballot to give the nomination to someone other than the candidate with the most delegates coming into the convention, the party will self destruct.

It would be political suicide in the General Election , leaving Trump laughing all the way to the White House, again.

If we go into the convention with a candidate leading but not having a majority, what I laid out is the best thing. As depending on how much they are leading can allow everyone to get behind them before the convention.

But if say its Biden with 30% and Sanders with 27% and Warren with 26% and all the others making up the difference? What should the outcome be?
