Bloomberg's spokesman said that he is afraid that Bernie voters will stay home if Bloomberg

in particular wins, "given the way he's getting there". He went on to say that he thinks they will be very upset and wonder if this is a legitimate process.

After he said this, Joe Scarborough then tried to frantically save him by saying how Trump will unify the Democrats to vote against him.

The spokesman's name is Steve Rattner and he was introduced as a person works with Bloomberg and who takes care of his money.

*For anyone that DVRd Morning Joe, the quote occurred at around 8:39 this morning.*

I will say right here that Bloomberg will further divide this party and we will have Trump. This is a risk that he is aware of and is obviously prepared to take just to satisfy his own personal ambitions.

Get prepared to welcome a re-elected Trump.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

I don't know why all these Bloomberg supporters are not seeing this.

We know based on data from 2016 that 90% of the Bernie Bro's will eventually fall into line and vote for Biden. We don't need to get all negative on Bernie supporters; they want Trump out as much as we do even though we may disagree with their methods. They will vote for Klobuchar and Warren too. Warren is actually a very natural shift for them.

But stick in Bloomberg - a Republican Billionaire?

The jump is too far. Eventually Team Bernie will fall into line and go along with Biden/Klobuchar/Warren, there is no other choice for them, but can you imagine the reaction from AOC if Bloomberg or Steyer get in?

Bloomberg may make people feel good because he's got money and desire to get Trump out, but he's doing the wrong thing. By sucking supporters away from Biden he's hurting the best chance we've got.

If he takes down Biden, then what? Will he come after Klobuchar / Warren.

When does this stop?

He is an insider who has a stake in Bloomberg's run, so call him what you like.

Excerpt from a previous article:

Bloomberg allies and Democratic operatives say for the former New York City mayor to have a shot at the nomination, Iowa and the other three February contests would have to produce a muddled result, leaving the current national polling leader, Joe Biden, in a weakened position.

That could provide a lane for Bloomberg to swoop in as the moderate alternative that Biden was supposed to be, countering whichever progressive candidates are still standing — particularly Bernie Sanders.

“If Biden wins Iowa and then New Hampshire ... it may well be game over,” for Bloomberg, Steve Rattner, an ally of the former mayor, said on MSNBC this week. However, Rattner continued, if Biden “does poorly in Iowa, that raises Mike Bloomberg as the possible alternative to Bernie Sanders, and that’s exactly the calculus.”

my support for Biden. This will result in a split of the moderate/black vote (Biden getting 15% / Bloomberg getting 15%) and Bernie running away with the nomination at 25%+.

Sanders will divide the party, lose to Trump and we will lose the House. A Democratic socialist will not win. That said it's Bernie and his Looney surrogates goung after our Candidates, not Mike

If it comes down to Sanders and any one of the billionaires, we will not win in the general. It really doesn't matter who emerges as the winner.
I've worked with the same group of voters since I was 9. It started off with me bringing them water as they waited in the lines, to driving them to the polls, and to now raising money for buses and other supplies. I'm not talking about a few dozen people, I'm talking hundreds.
These are the same core (straight ticket) voters who've never missed any elections (local or national). They are dedicated toward building the Democratic party and have serious reservations about whats been going on in party (national), lately. They're concerned about who actually has coattails. For them, voting is not an exercise of ideals. It's a matter of life and death for their loved ones (they don't really worry for themselves). So having a person who can pull along state and local democrats (you know where most stuff gets done) is paramount for all of them. Pragmatic is the word.

I always try to be hopeful. Being around these types of people is always a treat. But, they're worried and that worries me.

57. "Sanders voters" aren't the same as "Sanders supporters" let alone "Sanders surrogates "

It is a diverse group that potentially encompasses tens of millions. Sanders does not have control over their choices. I don't have a doubt in the world that a self funding Multi Billionaire who endorsed George W. Bush for President at the 2004 Republican Convention will lose a lot of "Sanders voters" even if Bernie personally campaigns for him and people like me go out door knocking for him. To pretend otherwise is beyond naive.

61. Steve Rattner isn't a spokesman for Bloomberg

"Steven Lawrence Rattner (born July 5, 1952) is an American financier who served as lead adviser to the Presidential Task Force on the Auto Industry in 2009 for the Obama administration.[1] He is currently chairman and chief executive officer of Willett Advisors LLC, the private investment group that manages billionaire former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg's personal and philanthropic assets. He continues to be involved in public policy matters as the economic analyst for MSNBC's Morning Joe, and as a contributing opinion writer for The New York Times op-ed page."

We all have to vote for whoever gets the nomination. People's lives really do depend on this. It isn't about finding your dream person. It's about taking the bus. If one isn't going to your exact destination, you get on the one that will get you as close as possible.
