The Latest Monmouth A+ Poll Has Bernie Sanders On Top with 26%

That's good for Bernie, with all of those candidates running.

But, what if that's Bernie's peak? His cap? We don't know, do we? What if he stays at about a quarter of the vote as the primaries go on? What if he can't break through that cap?

That's an interesting question, I think. So, I sometimes add up the polling numbers for all of the more moderate candidates who aren't polling as well as Bernie. As the primaries go on, some are going to drop out of the race. that's certain. But, when? And who will get those supporters in the later primaries? Joe? Buttigieg? Bloomberg? I don't know.
So many interesting questions. I can't guess. I'll just have to wait. Maybe we'll learn more on March 4. That'd be great!

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

May the best candidate win and, then, hopefully, we'll all be united in that one important goal of defeating the Fascist-in-Chief currently occupying our White House!

the outsiders and their race within a race probability l would not be surprised if after March 4 Bloomberg is first to the finish line. Good odds too, but the variables may be a bit daunting.

Them 4 drop and Sanders will hit 60% and he would be guarenteed the nomination. Gabard and yang will probably drop tomorrow or after Nevada and Biden and Warren after super tuesday unless something crazy happens.

And it keeps not happening.

He was predicted to not last to Iowa
He was never supposed to have any chance come super Tuesday.
And yes he was supposed to have capped in support months ago.

Those predictions keep not coming true. So at what point should we take these with a large bit of salt?

I've not seen it. I think he'll stay at about 25% for the foreseeable future. I also think he will have a very hard time rising much above that as time passes.

You probably think otherwise. I guess we'll have to wait and see, won't we?

METHODOLOGY

The Monmouth University Poll was sponsored and conducted by the Monmouth University Polling
Institute from February 6 to 9, 2020 with a national random sample of 902 adults age 18 and older, in
English. This includes 362 contacted by a live interviewer on a landline telephone and 540 contacted by a
live interviewer on a cell phone. The results in this poll release are based on a subsample of 827
registered voters. Telephone numbers were selected through random digit dialing and landline
respondents were selected with a modified Troldahl-Carter youngest adult household screen. Monmouth
is responsible for all aspects of the survey design, data weighting and analysis. The full sample is
weighted for region, age, education, gender and race based on US Census information (CPS 2018
supplement). Data collection support provided by Braun Research (field) and Dynata (RDD sample). For
results based on the registered voter sample, one can say with 95% confidence that the error attributable
to sampling has a maximum margin of plus or minus 3.4 percentage points (unadjusted for sample
design). Sampling error can be larger for sub-groups (see table below). In addition to sampling error, one
should bear in mind that question wording and practical difficulties in conducting surveys can introduce
error or bias into the findings of opinion polls.
