your daily wedge issue- can you believe the women?

so today is apparently throw kamala under the bus day, because she made a measured response to the question of the day.
she is being shamed and stoned right here. for a middling response.

so, how do we talk about this?

imho, joe is the perfect person to lead a conversation about the grey areas of #metoo. we need this conversation, and badly, and now.

it should come as a surprise to no one that there are people who do not like to have their space invaded, and joe has no sense of personal space. but pretty much no honest person questions his intent.
does intent matter? "even a dog knows if it was tripped over or kicked"

it's a nuanced situation, and we arent good at that. it is time we got up to speed.
like several other senators and dem leaders, this is getting a full airing, and it is a good thing. (nancy and her stiff arm club. perfect.)

so lets not give the trolls a second wave of giggles at us as we eat our own for trying to have an honest, important discussion.
today it's kamala, and of course, gillibrand will have her day. warren got hit, but she is low in the polls, so no sense spending the bot rubbles on her.

instead, lets talk like adults w/o tearing down anyone.
lets have this conversation.
keep talking and stop swallowing.

ps- i am thinking that going forward my donation strategy may be- throw money under the bus.

To go public with it, with all the pushback they had to know they were bound to get... that says something to me.

OTOH... I know that if Joe Biden gets the nomination, I'll still feel compelled to vote for him. Invading one's personal space the way he's been accused of doing certainly doesn't equal pussy grabbing. But it's still an issue, because even if Biden's behavior was meant in a positive way (and it seemed to be), if it wasn't received that way, then it hangs over his head as a candidate.

I agree that this issue needs to be better addressed than it has.

"I believe them and I respect them being able to tell their story and having the courage to do it, but I also know and respect my friend Joe Biden, and I believe that he never meant to cause them any discomfort."

Instead, she stoked the flames and abandoned a good man. To hell with her.

...she merely said she 'believes' the women.

A woman expressing support for another woman speaking out about how she feels about what she views as inappropriate contact.

Women supporting women. Revolutionary, really, in the face of all of this opportunistic, politically-inspired animus.

while ignoring the other, is significant, and she's too good of a politician not to know that.

...there's no reason to depart from accepted practice.

Believe the women, whether your politician of choice is the target of the complaints, or not.
