Fox News To Hold 2020 Town Hall With Bernie Sanders

By Kate Riga
April 3, 2019 11:59 am

Fox News will host Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) for a 2020 town hall on April 15. The event will be moderated by hosts Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum.

Sanders participated in a town hall in 2016 on Fox News as well.

From a Daily Caller reporter:

There was a chunk of 2016 Bernie primary voters that defected to Trump in the general. This could be his way of trying to reach them.

I'm not sure how many additional voters he can garner from a Fox audience, but I'm glad he is going there. I would prefer to not use this term, but, I don't know how else to say it, I like someone who goes to "enemy territory" and makes the attempt to stop all the feces throwing.

I also think it's good for a candidate to go where the questions might be tough. If he can maintain his composure and respond well to challenges from a Fox audience, he'll be that much more prepared to handle 45.

Call me a dreamer, I admit I hold out hope that there are at least a few Fox viewers with healthcare nightmares going on who might respond positively to Medicare for All.
