I honestly thought one of the candidates would have announced...

...a potential running mate at this point. It would be fairly unprecedented, but given the nature of the way this particular primary is going, not entirely out of place. Imagine if tomorrow, Amy appears on stage with Cory Booker to “announce” their ticket. Or if Pete announced Stacey Abrams as his running mate. It might prove to be the catalyst that pushes them over the top and opens things up a bit. I’m certain discussions have taken place with respect. Any thoughts from the Pols much smarter than I?

primary today, I would vote for:

Suggesting people he hates the most ,by just playing with him. Obama , Hillary Comey, and all those he's been attacking and is trying to hurt by abuse of power using Barr , suggesting they could be picked , wink, wink just to get him upset , and replace his propaganda with.

Either will drive him totally batty and I bet generate at least 3-5 separate angry tweets if it's Schiff and up to 10 if it's Pelosi.

It probably wouldn't happen, but this year is so different.

The thought of Klobuchar and Buttigieg joining together as a pre-announced ticket was what I was playing around with. Some DUers made a good point, that they are both from the midwest. But it was just a thought.

They could combine their money and it might assuage the fear that either one of them by themselves couldn't defeat Trump, but that together they could.

Also, this is really a backup plan in case Biden can't regain strength, or he and Elizabeth lose steam.

But it could also help Joe if he announced a VP too. He should do it right away if possible. Super Tuesday is coming up fast.

...because great minds think alike. As an early Harris supporter, I sent her about 10 e-mails suggesting this and other possibilities ( I.e. Getting ADM Jim Stavridis to commit to be her SECDEF, SECSTATE, etc). Crickets. Candidates need something to break them out of the pack and this might do it. Because unless one of them goes on The Arsenio Hall Show and plays the sax, we may be headed towards a brokered convention. That does not help our case in the slightest.

Frankly conventions are fairly bland and such a situation might draw more interest.

If if comes down to a brokered convention, a given candidate's delegates may be "traded away" by one candidate in exchange for the VP slot. If you don't have a VP slot to give away (because you've already announced your VP choice), you walk into the convention with less ammunition, so to speak. No. In this scenario, it makes perfect sense to me why no candidate has yet announced a VP choice. At the convention Joe Biden (just as an example) may have to offer the VP slot to Amy Klobuchar (just as an example) in order to get Klobuchar's delegates and, thereby, secure the nomination. As such, it makes sense for Joe not to announce a VP choice at this time because he may have to trade away that office just to "buy" enough delegates to win.
