Take it FWIW, but this might be psyops by Bloomberg. A full frontal assault on Trump's head! Love it!

(7,433 posts)I don't think it's "awesome." Drudge is making this stuff up, IMO. Drudge is setting Trump up for a nasty set of tweets attacking both Bloomberg and HRC. It's his bread and butter, and it's unnecessarily damaging to Clinton. Jeez. Leave the woman alone.

(11,990 posts)...and she did not say no, instead saying she didn't think anyone would ask her. That may have been before Bloomberg was in the race, I'm not sure. But I suspect that she would seriously consider such an opportunity. Being the first female VP would still be a huge one for the history books. Plus, there is some potential job advancement serving under a President who will soon be turning 80.

(11,990 posts)...but on the negative side, I'm afraid it would motivate maximum turnout on the Trump side, as there is basically nobody they hate more. And on the flip side of that same equation, I'm not sure it gets us any more votes than Bloomberg himself. What state does she help him carry that he wouldn't get anyway?
I think I'd rather Bloomberg ran with someone who more people really liked, someone who wasn't underwater in favorables (outside the base).

(18,770 posts)The screenshot in the tweet links to a larger version of the snip, not to Drudge.
I posted it because:
a) Oliver Darcy is a legit journalist who covers media for CNN
b) *To me*, this really seems more like Bloomberg psyops on Trump than Drudge trying to push a improbable narrative on his gullible viewers (I say viewers because 95% of his hist are people just reading the headlines on his HTML 1.0-based page, not actually clicking thru)

(25,472 posts)I think it makes more sense that it's Drudge, trying to jack up Sanders supporters and keep the division fires stoked.
You know...same as last time?
I think the Bloomberg connection might be one more step than is really required for a conclusion, though you could be right.

(18,770 posts)Sorry for the Raw Story link. It's one of the few original articles they publish:
Couric also broke some news about how the Bloomberg campaign was seeking to exploit the dynamic.
I talked to somebody from the Bloomberg campaign, they said theyre hiring an expert on narcissism and combining that no, this is for real and combining that person with a comedy writer to get in Donald Trumps head, Couric reported.

Also, they are both nominally NY residents AFAIK. The Constitution demands they be from different states. One would have to pull a swicheroo like Dick Cheney did and claim a second/vacation home as primary residence.

(5,124 posts)He's already questionable to a lot of folks. Bringing in another person that will have their own baggage would be foolish. I know Hillary's baggage is not of her own making. Its still baggage that many voters may not want. Hillary still has a lot of haters. It would be foolish to have two people carrying baggage.
I think his campaign probably started this rumor

(5,124 posts)in the first place. I mentioned in the other thread, there is a 2016 article that spoke about using such a strategy to make him more palatable to those who have more knowledge of the policies he supported. He will not be seen as suitable to many. It was suggested in the article to pick a VP early and one that would be likable.
